Aerosmith will headline two concerts at the Hollywood Bowl on October 29 and November 1, the group's first announced dates since retiring from touring in August 2024. The shows carry the title "California, Dream On: Aerosmith & Friends," with rotating guest rosters each night. Tickets land in a week, and the guest slate reads like a rock-radio All-Star Game.

Why is Aerosmith back so soon after retirement?

The lineup spans hard rock, classic rock and hip-hop. Confirmed guests so far:

  • Run-D.M.C.
  • Slash
  • Billy Idol
  • Eric Church
  • The Black Crowes
  • Heart
  • Pat Monahan of Train
  • Tom Morello
  • Sammy Hagar
  • Jerry Cantrell
  • Marcus King
  • Chad Smith
  • Duff McKagan
  • Nuno Bettencourt
  • Mike Inez
  • Andrew Watt
  • Steve Stevens
  • Sully Erna
  • Adam Wakeman
  • Audley Freed
  • Kenny Aronoff

Don Was serves as music director. The band said additional guests and surprise appearances will arrive "in the coming weeks," with final lineups disclosed at or near showtime.

What happened with the 'Peace Out' farewell?

Aerosmith pulled its "Peace Out: The Farewell Tour" in 2023 after lead singer Steven Tyler fractured his larynx. In August 2024 the group issued a social-media statement declaring that "recovery from his vocal injury is not possible" and that "it has been the honor of our lives to have our music become part of yours." The post read as a final chapter.

It did not function as one. Tyler appeared at a Grammy Awards watch party in February 2025 and joined Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath at their farewell concert in July 2025. Each outing put his voice, however briefly, back under public scrutiny — and primed fans for a fuller return.

How did Aerosmith tease the announcement?

The band previewed the news earlier this week with a social-media clip showing Tyler on a ladder beside photographer Ross Halpin, affixing letters to the Hollywood Bowl sign. The post carried no caption about a tour. It carried no dates.

The next morning, dates appeared.

When do tickets go on sale?

Citi cardmembers access a presale on October 8 at 10 a.m. PT. Additional presales precede a general onsale on October 10 at 10 a.m. PT.

Whether Tyler's voice can carry a headlining set at the Bowl — a question the band itself once said could not be answered — now has a built-in test: two nights in late autumn, with a guest roster large enough to share vocal duties if needed.
