Programme

  1. Banijay Entertainment attends Mipcom 2026 with the biggest presence of any company, merging All3 Media titles into its lineup for the first time at a market, with its stand renamed Banijay House.
  2. Premium scripted lead titles include BBC One legal thriller 'Reputation' starring Naomie Harris and Christina Hendricks, and Channel 4/Starz witness protection thriller 'Maya' with Daisy Haggard.
  3. New formats include dating reality show 'Date Knight,' cooking competition '100 Knives' billed as the 'largest cooking show in history,' and 'The Million Dollar Idea' from Endemol Shine Germany for SAT.1.

Banijay Entertainment arrives at Mipcom 2026 with the biggest presence of any company in the world, deploying its merged All3 Media catalogue at a market for the first time and rebaptizing its stand in front of the steps of the Palais des Festivals as Banijay House.

The format franchises now gathered under one roof include "The Traitors," "Survivor," "Fear Factor" and "The Circle." Former All3Media titles reach into every sales category: "Maya" in premium scripted; a bevy of Studio Lambert titles, "Midsomer Murders" and "The Assassin" in returning favorites; two Lion TV documentaries in factual; and "Legends" among the Netflix shows.

The premium scripted slate is led by BBC One legal thriller "Reputation," starring Naomie Harris ("Skyfall") as a hot-shot lawyer hired to represent international pop star Davina Knight, played by "Mad Men" leading light Christina Hendricks, in the celebrity case of the decade. Anya Reiss ("Becoming Elizabeth") writes and executive produces the series, sourced from Banijay U.K. scripted powerhouse The Forge Entertainment ("A Woman of Substance," "Falling") for BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

The U.K. high-stakes thriller "Maya" also anchors the drama offering. Produced by "Fleabag" producer Two Brothers Pictures for Channel 4 and Starz, and led by Ramsey and Daisy Haggard ("Back To Life," "Breeders"), the witness protection thriller is billed as "darkly comedic" and "atmospheric." Haggard, a BAFTA and International Emmy nominee, writes, creates and co-directs alongside Jamie Donoughue ("Doctor Who," "The Last Kingdom"). The series sparked good word of mouth when teased at February's London TV Screenings and marks one of the latest incursions by Starz into U.K. drama.

Further scripted titles include a modern-day Swedish-language "Wallander" reboot, with Gustaf Skarsgård ("Oppenheimer," "Vikings") playing the iconic sleuth across three 90-minute films. Produced by Jarowskij/Yellow Bird, Swedish network TV4 and Banijay Rights, the films are written by Antonia Pyk ("Beartown"), Josefin Johansson ("Top Dog") and Jörgen Bergmark ("Huss"), with Molly Hartleb ("Top Dog") directing.

"Counsels," co-created by "Skins" creator Bryan Elsley, tracks five fellow trainee lawyers in Glasgow hitting their disparate first jobs. Co-produced with Germany's ZDFneo, it was a standout at Series Mania's Buyers Upfront in March and forms part of the BBC's recent investment in drama in Scotland.

"Open Water," commissioned by the BBC, adapts Caleb Azumah Nelson's multi award-winning debut novel from Mam Tor Productions and B-Side Productions. Azumah adapts his own story of budding photographer Marcus and dance student Effie, which Banijay promises will be "deeply romantic."

Hulu titles include "The Mob" from Studio Lambert and Primal Media; Prime Video takes "The Grand Tour" from Studio Lambert, "The Crouches" from Workerbee, Pokeepsie Films' "Drawn Together" starring Ester Expósito ("Elite"), and LOL: Last One Laughing, produced by Banijay labels in 11 territories. Third-party shows include reality series "Werewolves" from Studiocanal, a hit on Canal+, and TBS's obstacle-course competition "Ninja Warrior," which joins Banijay's superbrands.

Banijay argues its position as the world's leading provider for streamers rests on evergreens as much as new IP. According to Plum Research, 90% of views and 75% of titles viewed on streaming services take place on the long tail. Potential evergreens being shopped at Mipcom include "Rogue Heroes," "A Remarkable Place to Die," "A Woman of Substance," "Bergerac," "Midsomer Murders" and "The Assassin." Upcoming Netflix releases include "Beat Luke Littler" from Workerbee, "Will You Marry Me?" co-produced by Workerbee and Initial, "Simon Says" from Bunim/Murray Productions, Studio Lambert's "Monopoly," "House of Guinness" from Kudos, and "Legends" from Tannadice Pictures and Lion Television.

"Mipcom 2026 marks a major milestone for Banijay Entertainment – our first distribution showcase as a combined group, and the first opportunity to unite the full force of our creative talent, standout catalogue and exceptional pipeline of new IP," said Cathy Payne, CEO of Banijay Rights.

"Bold, distinctive and built to travel, our offering reflects our expanded strength across English-language and premium content, and position as a go-to for buyers for every genre, every screen and every platform," she noted.

Chief Content Officers James Townley (Development) and Lucas Green (Operations) added: "We're talking fresh ideas with cut-through potential, iconic brands reimagined for new audiences and entertainment designed to travel across screens, platforms and generations. This is Banijay Entertainment: greater in scale, bolder in ambition, and built to create the hits of tomorrow."

On formats, flagship dating reality show "Date Knight" invites singles via roleplay to become knights, elves, witches and warriors, "forging connections and taking chances on love in ways they might never dare to in real life." From Denmark's Nordisk Film TV, Townley calls it "visually ambitious, emotionally engaging."

"100 Knives," billed as the "largest cooking show in history," is backed by Mastiff Sweden, Bunim/Murray Productions and Smart Dog Media. Made for Sweden's TV4, the high-pressure culinary smackdown pits 100 chefs, from food truck owners to fine dining apprentices, into brigades facing escalating challenges. Following TV4's commission, a Danish adaptation has been confirmed with Metronome for TV 2.

"Last One Standing," co-developed by RTL Creative Unit and SimpelZodiak for Videoland, forms part of Banijay's drive into "sportainment": celebrities take on elite-level trials devised by top athletes in a desert-like setting until they drop or beg out. Banijay's sportainment push is underpinned by data from Ampere Analysis showing licensed non-live sports programming on the six global streamers grew from around 5,000 hours in Q2 2022 to 12,000 hours in Q4 2025.

"The Million Dollar Idea," created by Endemol Shine Germany for SAT.1, has everyday inventors transform brilliant ideas into market-ready products. "Everyone can relate to the excitement of having a great idea and imagining what it could become. 'The Million Dollar Idea' taps into that universal ambition and turns it into uplifting entertainment," Townley has said.

In factual, Dragonfly revives BAFTA-winning observational series "One Born Every Minute," which ran for 11 seasons on Channel 4 from 2010 to 2018 and peaked at five million viewers. The 12-episode return for Channel 4 and E4 will highlight evolving family dynamics, advances in maternity care and challenges faced by NHS staff in 2026, say E4 and Dragonfly.

Oscar-winning director Kevin Macdonald ("One Day in September") charts Pep Guardiola's tumultuous final two seasons at Manchester City in "A Beautiful Obsession," made for Prime Video with Brad Pitt's Plan B, Workerbee and City Studios. "Pep playing himself is a bit like having Robert De Niro play a football coach," Macdonald told Deadline.

"Meet the Owens" follows former England striker Michael Owen, wife Louise and four children, including "Love Island" star Gemma, at the family's Cheshire stables as he turns his 140 horses into a business. Produced by Whisper for Prime Video UK.

Liz Bonnin, behind 2018's "Drowning in Plastic," presents "Riddled With Plastic" (w/t) for BBC Two and BBC iPlayer, following a world-first experiment at the University of Lincoln and Brighton and Sussex Medical School, where scientists dissect a human body to measure its microplastics. Lion TV also brings "The Epstein Files" (w/t) to Channel 4, presented by Emily Maitlis, who famously interviewed Prince Andrew about his links to Epstein in 2019, with firsthand testimony from survivors and forensic analysis of connected documents, networks and powerful individuals.

Banijay Rights rounds out its table with "Careless" from Synchronicity Films and Easy Tiger, "The Northumbria Mysteries" from Lonesome Pine, "Monarch of the Glen" from Ecosse Films, and hits including "All Creatures Great and Small," "Black Snow," "Maigret" and "Trigger Point."
