"Bob's Burgers" Holiday Short Sets Dec. 7 Hulu Premiere

"Bob's Burgers" holiday short "On the Fort Day of Christmas" premieres Dec. 7 on Hulu. Creator Loren Bouchard confirmed the date Saturday at New York Comic-Con, where the panel debuted a first-look clip from the short.

The 20th Television Animation production streams exclusively on Hulu and on Disney+ for bundle subscribers in the U.S.

What is the holiday short about?

The Belcher children build a massive fort during a record-breaking snowstorm. The family-stuck-inside story centers on the three kids' construction project as snow piles outside the family restaurant.

A Dec. 7 streaming debut marks the franchise's first Hulu-exclusive holiday release, expanding its broadcast footprint into a new platform.

Who attended the NYCC panel?

Bouchard appeared with six voice cast members at the Saturday event. H. Jon Benjamin voices Bob Belcher. John Roberts voices Linda Belcher. Kristen Schaal voices Louise Belcher. Eugene Mirman voices Gene Belcher. Dan Mintz voices Tina Belcher. Larry Murphy voices Teddy.

The ensemble has recorded the series since its 2011 debut, now totaling 15 continuous years of voice work for most of the principal cast.

What is the show's broadcast future?

Season 17 of "Bob's Burgers" returns to Fox in early 2027. Fox renewed the series through Season 19, adding two more seasons to the existing order. The show has aired continuously on the network since January 2011.

The Season 19 commitment places the animated sitcom among the longest-running scripted programs in U.S. broadcast history, a rare 19-season milestone for a 2011-launched series.

When was the project first revealed?

The holiday short first appeared publicly at San Diego Comic-Con on July 25. The NYCC appearance marked the project's second fan event unveiling in 2025, generating fresh attention ahead of the December premiere. The Saturday panel drew one of the convention's largest audiences for an animated series.

Who produces the show?

20th Television Animation produces "Bob's Burgers." Eleven executive producers share credit alongside Bouchard, including Nora Smith, Dan Fybel, Rich Rinaldi, Jon Schroeder, Steven Davis, Scott Jacobson, Holly Schlesinger, Wendy Molyneux, Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin and Janelle Momary-Neely.

Jim Dauterive co-developed the series with Bouchard in 2011, a founding partnership that continues 15 years after the show's Fox premiere. The franchise expanded to film in 2022 with "The Bob's Burgers Movie," centered on a sinkhole outside the family restaurant.

The Dec. 7 Hulu premiere will gauge streaming-only demand for the Belcher family, offering Disney a low-risk test before Fox's Season 17 return in early 2027.
