Elie Saab, the Lebanese couture house that has dressed Beyoncé, Zendaya and Halle Berry, has launched a 55-piece collection at H&M with prices starting at $39.99. The collection is available now online and in select stores.

That starting price matters. Saab's couture gowns routinely cost tens of thousands of dollars. The H&M line offers a considerably more accessible entry point into a brand that has spent four decades at the top of Hollywood's red carpet hierarchy.

What's in the collection?

The range covers eveningwear, tailored separates and accessories, carrying Saab's signature embroidery and intricate detailing into mass-market production. It includes:

  • Embellished gowns
  • Sequined blazers
  • Lace separates
  • Faux-fur outerwear
  • Footwear and jewelry
  • Menswear, handbags and tailored evening jackets

Standout pieces include a $269 sequined bandeau dress, a $219 fluffy jacket and a $429 embellished bandeau dress. At the lower end, blouses run $89.99 and a floral choker costs $39.99.

Why the name carries weight

Saab's most famous red carpet moment came in 2002, when Halle Berry accepted her Best Actress Oscar for "Monster's Ball" in a burgundy gown with a sheer, floral-embroidered bodice. The look helped catapult the then-emerging designer to international recognition. More than two decades later, Berry revisited the dress on the runway at Saab's 2024 anniversary celebration in Riyadh.

The celebrity following has continued into 2026. In September, Beyoncé wore a sheer black ballgown from Saab's fall 2026 couture collection to the New York premiere of Jay-Z's HBO Max docuseries "Jay-Z in 8." Zendaya stepped out in a black dress from his fall 2026 collection during a New York outing with Tom Holland. Angelina Jolie has also worn Saab to the Oscars, including a shimmering silver gown at the 2014 ceremony.

Saab founded his label in Beirut in 1982 and first gained recognition for bridal designs. He became one of the first international members of France's Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture (the official body governing Paris haute couture), and has since expanded into ready-to-wear and accessories.

What does this change for shoppers?

H&M frames the deal as a continuation of its tradition of luxury collaborations, with Versace, Balmain and Maison Margiela among previous partners. "We are thrilled to announce this landmark collaboration with Elie Saab," Ann-Sofie Johansson, H&M's creative advisor and head of design womenswear, said in a statement. "Mr Saab is a designer we have always respected – the journey from master of bridalwear in Beirut to the centre of Paris fashion is an amazing, rich story and we are so excited to be exploring his world."

For shoppers, the practical answer is simple: red carpet construction language — embellishment, embroidery, sequins — at high-street prices, but only while stock lasts. Designer collaborations at H&M have historically sold out quickly, and this one pairs a couture name with an unusually broad range, menswear included.
