The Metropolitan Opera has announced a cast change for its production of "La Bohème." Freddie de Tommaso will step in to sing the role of Rodolfo for the performances on September 25 and 27.
The company confirmed the substitution in a statement: "For the performances on September 25 and 27, Freddie de Tommaso will step in to sing the role of Rodolfo."
De Tommaso arrives at the production with recent Puccini credentials. He performed "La Bohème" at the Met last season, and OperaWire noted of that run, "Tenor Freddie De Tommaso had a strong impact." He is currently performing in a production of "Macbeth."
