H3 Podcast Pauses Indefinitely as Crew Ends Work With Ethan Klein

The H3 Podcast, co-hosted by Ethan and Hila Klein, is on indefinite hiatus after its crew said it would no longer work with Ethan, following Hila Klein’s allegation of an affair lasting more than six months.

Hila made the allegation in an Instagram post published late Thursday. She also said she and Ethan have separated. Her post began:

“I am living a nightmare I can’t wake up from. My husband has been having an affair. I have been fed lie after lie after lie for months. Here is the truth.”

She said she noticed something was wrong but met what she described as dismissive answers and no action.

“I could sense something was wrong. I tried to ask him questions and share my concerns and hurt feelings. But I was met with dismissive answers and no action. Things that bothered me continued to bother me, and he did nothing about it. So I trusted him.”

Her account moved from a claimed kiss to alleged emotional cheating, then to an admission of an affair.

“Because I loved him. I stopped questioning him and began to question myself, my own instincts. My sanity.”

“Eventually, he was caught in a lie, and I knew I was done. But the lies continued. ‘It was just a kiss’ became ‘it was emotional cheating.’ After I dragged these lies from him, he finally admitted he’d been in an affair for over 6 months, the extent of which I’m sure I still don’t know.”

The excerpts did not specify dates or provide further detail about the alleged affair.

She described the effect on their marriage, parenting and shared business.

“The betrayal I feel is immeasurable. The person I loved and trusted for 20 years evaporated overnight. He was my safe place, my partner in marriage, parenting, and business,” Hila wrote. “My only family on this side of the world. How do I even begin to make sense of this?”

Hila said she was in survival mode, focused on separation, co-parenting and her children.

“I don’t know what comes next; I’ve never been here before. I am in survival mode, trying to navigate separation, co-parenting, and unthinkable heartbreak. All I can do right now is focus on taking care of myself and my children, one day at a time.”

“You’re not crazy. Trust your instincts. Trust yourself. If you’re not being treated right, get up and leave.”

The production crew responded on Instagram. It said all members unanimously agreed to stop working with Ethan and framed the decision as a response to what Hila had disclosed.

“We stand with Hila and will support her every step of the way. We’re disgusted by Ethan’s actions and the hurt he has caused. We all deserved better: Hila, us, and you.”

“We are all shocked, angry, and heartbroken to learn about Ethan’s ongoing affair,” the H3 team said. “As soon as we found out, we all agreed: we would not continue working with Ethan involved or profiting in any way.”

The crew stopped short of explaining what Ethan’s departure means for the show’s future.

“We don’t yet know what that means for the future. There’s a lot to work through, and we wish we had more answers for you.”

“Please know that we’re safe, we’re sticking together, and we’re looking after each other. We’ve put so much of ourselves into this show, and it’s hard to find the words for what we’re feeling right now.”

“Thank you for giving us some time to figure things out, and for all the love you’ve shown us. We love you, and we miss you already.”

Variety reported that Ethan and Hila Klein had collaborated as content creators through H3H3 Productions since launching their YouTube channel in 2011. The L.A.-based couple started H3 Podcast in late 2016. The show currently has 2.5 million subscribers on YouTube.

Variety had reached out to Ethan Klein for comment, but its report included no response. It also included no independent account of the alleged affair. The crew’s language is categorical, but its own statement does not explain how the production will proceed.

What does this change for listeners?

For listeners, the immediate change is a missing schedule. A podcast with 2.5 million YouTube subscribers remains paused, with no return date announced and no explanation of how the show will operate without Ethan or profit for him. For staff, the posts promise continuity and mutual support, but also concede that many questions remain. The separation Hila described adds a personal and parental dimension to the production break.

The next test is whether the crew can turn its promise to remain together into a workable schedule and format; its own statement says it is still working out those questions.
