Iron Maiden will play 17 North American shows in April and May 2027, extending their 50th anniversary "Run for Your Lives" tour into a third and final leg.
The band, which joins the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as part of the 2026 induction class, announced the run on Wednesday. It opens April 14, 2027 at the Tacoma Dome in Washington and closes May 16, 2027 at the Boardwalk Rock festival in Ocean City, Maryland.
Why a 2027 tour at all?
Maiden had planned to rest next year. Bassist and founder Steve Harris said the current US and Canadian leg changed their minds.
"As many of our fans know, Maiden were planning on taking a break from live performances in 2027, but we've been enjoying this last leg in the USA and Canada so much that we all had a chat and decided we should take the show to parts we missed, particularly the North West and South East," Harris said. "It just seems fair to our many fans there who have given us tremendous support for so many years. We can't get everywhere but we can try!"
So the routing fills geographic gaps rather than retracing old ground. The calendar leans hard into two regions the earlier legs skipped:
- Northwest/Pacific: Tacoma (April 14), Vancouver (April 16), Portland (April 18), Wheatland, CA (April 20)
- Southeast/South: Tampa (May 1), West Palm Beach (May 2), Atlanta (May 5), Dallas (April 28), Phoenix (April 26)
The middle stretch runs through California amphitheaters — Chula Vista (April 22), San Bernardino (April 24) — then Raleigh (May 7), Hartford (May 9), and Belmont Park, NY's UBS Arena (May 11).
What's different about the ending?
The final two stops are festivals, not headline arena shows, and that's deliberate. Maiden headline Sonic Temple in Columbus, Ohio on May 14 and Boardwalk Rock in Ocean City on May 16.
Harris explained the reasoning: "Also, we have always enjoyed playing the many great festivals that are in Europe and wanted to experience a couple more in the USA which we will do at the end of the tour in Columbus and Maryland. At festivals you are not just playing to your own fans so it's always a challenge and we all love a challenge!"
That's the mechanism worth noting. A festival bill puts Maiden in front of casual listeners, not just the faithful — a different proposition for a band five decades into its career.

What does this change for fans?
If you live in the Pacific Northwest or the Southeast, this is likely your last chance to catch the anniversary production without crossing the country. The band frames it as a final leg, and Harris's phrasing — "we can't get everywhere but we can try" — signals they're treating these dates as the closing chapter of a two-year celebration that will also carry them into the Hall of Fame in 2026.
