Nebula's travel competition series "Jet Lag: The Game" will screen its Season 20 premiere, "Hide + Seek: Italy," on more than 160 movie theater screens across the U.S., U.K. and Canada on Dec. 5. Tickets went on sale Nov. 5.

The 90-minute premiere marks the series' largest international theatrical release to date. Nebula partnered with four chains: Regal and Landmark Cinemas in North America, and Picturehouse and Cineworld in the U.K. Select venues will also host an on-screen trivia experience before the screening.

What does this change for the series?

It escalates a theatrical strategy the streamer began testing this year. The Season 19 "Japanorama" premiere screened in August at Picturehouse Cinemas in London, followed by an international rollout of the Season 19 finale across Regal, Picturehouse and Cineworld locations in October. The Dec. 5 event triples the footprint.

"The magic of 'Jet Lag' is the community, so it's a real joy to work with our friends at Picturehouse, Regal, Cineworld, and Landmark to bring that community together in the real world," Nebula founder Dave Wiskus said.

The exhibition side shares that confidence. "Our first Jet Lag: The Game theatrical event demonstrated the potential of bringing an established digital audience into the movie theatre," said Brooks LeBoeuf, Regal's senior vice president of U.S. content. "Nebula has built one of the most engaged fanbases in the creator space, and that enthusiasm translated directly into theatrical demand. 'Hide + Seek Italy' builds on that momentum, and we look forward to welcoming fans back to experience the series together on the big screen."

What happens in Season 20?

Per Nebula's description: "In 'Hide + Seek: Italy,' the boys face off in a six-day game of Hide + Seek across Italy, exploring its scenic seaside towns, medieval mountain villages and rolling Roman hills. But this season is no vacation: the classic Hide + Seek format has been elevated to 'Expert Mode,' removing the game's most powerful questions and introducing new mechanics designed to punish seekers for making mistakes. In the season premiere, Ben and Adam grapple with the new Expert Mode questions as Sam relaxes on the beach."

The series stars its creators, Sam Denby, Ben Doyle and Adam Chase, alongside a rotating cast of guest competitors. Across its first 19 seasons, the show has staged competitions in Japan, New Zealand, Europe, Australia and North America, making it one of indie streamer Nebula's most popular originals.

Where can audiences see it?

The Dec. 5 bookings span the chains' flagship venues, including Regal's LA Live, Times Square E-Walk and Union Square locations in the U.S.; Picturehouse Central, the Ritzy Brixton and Hackney Picturehouse in London; more than 30 Cineworld sites from Aberdeen to Plymouth; and 19 Landmark cinemas across Canada.

The expansion signals that creator-economy audiences, long confined to streaming platforms, can now fill multiplex seats on three continents — a model other independent streamers are likely to watch closely.
