Kacey Musgraves will release a 16-song album, "Middle of Nowhere Vol. 2: Tex Mex Tapes," on January 15, 2027, via Lost Highway Records. The announcement lands just eight months after Vol. 1.
The album picks up where its predecessor left off. According to the announcement, it expands on themes of solitude, contentment, and finding beauty in the in-between. Four of the 16 songs are sung entirely in Spanish, including a newly recorded Spanish version of "Uncertain, TX" featuring the band Intocable.
Two tracks arrive Thursday night: "Weekend In Texas" and Musgraves's rendition of the Norteño classic "Mi Tesoro."
What does the release change for Musgraves's year?
