Toca Boca World launches its “KPop Demon Hunters” collaboration on Oct. 27. The exclusive in-game partnership with Netflix brings stylized characters, fashion and music from the animated film to an app with nearly 60 million players — roughly the combined populations of Italy and Spain.

What does the collaboration include?

Players get two creative dimensions of the film: the characters' everyday style and the K-pop stage. They can mix both to build their own characters and stories, with looks inspired by Huntr/x, the Saja Boys and more, according to Toca Boca parent Spin Master.

A new music player anchors the release. It carries four chart-topping songs from the film — “Golden,” “How It’s Done,” “Soda Pop” and “Your Idol.” For a limited time, players can use these tracks as soundtracks for their own stories inside the app.

The takeaway: the deal converts a streaming hit into playable, dress-upable content for children.

Who is behind it, and what did they say?

Toca Boca, the digital studio arm of toy and entertainment company Spin Master, developed the app. Marc De Vellis, Spin Master's president and digital games, framed the deal as a response to existing player behavior.

“Netflix’s ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ is a global cultural phenomenon, bringing together music, fashion and beloved characters in a way that has clearly resonated with our players,” De Vellis said. “We were already seeing the Toca Boca community draw inspiration from the film in their stories within Toca Boca World, so this collaboration felt incredibly natural. It gives our players access to authentic and exclusive ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ content, with even more ways to create, play, tell stories and express themselves in a world they love.”

Previous Toca Boca World collaborations include Adidas, Conan Gray, Katseye and “Wicked: For Good,” plus in-game music from Olivia Rodrigo, Sienna Spiro and TWICE. The new deal extends that licensing track record into Netflix's biggest film property.

Is there more beyond the main app?

Yes. Netflix is also adding a “KPop Demon Hunters” update to “Toca Boca Jr Kitchen” on Netflix Playground. The collaboration keeps core mechanics intact but transforms gameplay into a mukbang-themed culinary experience. The game is available now on iOS and Android at no additional cost with a Netflix subscription.

How big is the film behind the deal?

“KPop Demon Hunters,” produced by Sony Pictures Animation and directed by Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans, was released June 20, 2025. It has generated more than 670 million views on Netflix and spent 63 consecutive weeks on the streamer's Global Top 10 — more than a year of uninterrupted chart presence.

The awards record is equally concrete:

  • The film won the 2026 Oscar for animated feature, plus Critics' Choice Awards, Golden Globes and 10 Annie Awards.
  • “Golden” became the first K-pop track to win both an Oscar and a Grammy.
  • The soundtrack was the first to place four songs simultaneously in the Billboard Hot 100 top 10.

A sequel is in the works, reportedly eyeing a 2029 release. The Toca Boca deal signals where the franchise goes next: from screens into children's own stories, one player-made idol at a time.
