Programme

  1. Netflix has ordered Seasons 2 and 3 of 'The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call'; both are in production.
  2. Season 1 (2025) made Netflix Top 10 charts in 63 countries and reached No. 1 in 18.
  3. Ju Ji-hoon returns as Baek Kang-hyuk; Choo Young-woo returns as Yang Jae-won.
  4. Lee Do-yun returns as director and also writes the scripts.
  5. No premiere dates were announced; both seasons stream exclusively on Netflix.

Netflix has ordered two more seasons of the Korean medical drama "The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call," with the streamer confirming that Seasons 2 and 3 are now in production.

The commitment is a vote of confidence grounded in numbers. Season 1, released in 2025, reached the streamer's Top 10 charts in 63 countries and hit No. 1 in 18 of them. Few Korean dramas earn a two-season renewal. This one did.

Who is coming back?

Ju Ji-hoon, known internationally for "Kingdom," returns in the lead as Baek Kang-hyuk, a brilliant surgeon who will go to any length to keep a patient alive. Choo Young-woo ("The Tale of Lady Ok") also returns as Yang Jae-won, the first protégé Baek took under his wing, who has since followed his mentor's path onto the trauma team.

The supporting cast stays intact:

  • Yoon Kyung-ho ("Husbands in Action") reprises Han Yu-rim, once Baek's adversary, now a trusted partner who heads planning and coordination at Hankuk National University Hospital.
  • Jeong Jae-kwang ("Take Charge of My Heart") steps back into the scrubs of anesthesiologist Park Gyeong-won.
  • Newcomer Jeong Ye-in, who landed the part after a demanding audition, plays nurse Cheon Jang-mi.

Who is running the show?

Lee Do-yun, who directed the first season, returns to the helm and is also writing the scripts — a continuity of authorship that gives the new seasons a single creative hand. The series is adapted from the webtoon "Trauma Center: Golden Hour." Studio N and Mays Entertainment produce; Netflix presents.

Both new seasons will stream exclusively on Netflix. The streamer did not announce premiere dates for either installment.

What does this change for the cast?

Two returning actors already anchor Netflix's current Korean slate. Jeong Jae-kwang appears in the romance series "Take Charge of My Heart," which launched on the streamer Oct. 9. Yoon Kyung-ho joins the ensemble of the horror series "Dead-End Job," led by Lee Jae-wook, premiering Oct. 30. The renewals lock both actors into Netflix's orbit through multiple projects at once.

For now, viewers have confirmation and casting but no dates. When Netflix names premiere windows, the scale of its Korean drama investment — two full seasons at once, with the original director and leads intact — will be the figure worth watching.
