Programme

  1. Netflix renewed 'Nobody Wants This' for Season 4 just over two weeks after Season 3 debuted on October 22.
  2. The series has reached 78.5 million views across all three seasons.
  3. Season 1 spent eight weeks on the Netflix global top 10 English-language TV chart; Season 2 spent four.
  4. The show is produced by 20th Television and filmed in Los Angeles.

Netflix has renewed "Nobody Wants This" for a fourth season, Variety has learned, just over two weeks after the comedy's third season debuted on the platform on October 22.

The renewal lands while the show's numbers still carry weight. The series, which premiered in 2024, has reached 78.5 million views across all three seasons, with a view defined as total hours viewed divided by total runtime. Season 1 spent eight weeks on the Netflix global top 10 English-language TV chart; Season 2, which followed in 2025, spent four weeks on the same chart.

"We are so happy and thrilled to do another season of our favorite show on television, which coincidentally is the one we run," said co-showrunners Erin Foster, Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan.

Tracey Pakosta, Netflix's vice president of comedy series, US, framed the pickup in broader terms: "Great love stories never go out of style, and 'Nobody Wants This' has become a true cultural phenomenon. This incredible creative team has built a show that grows with its audience, and our members around the world have embraced it season after season. We cannot be more excited for Season 4."

Whether "cultural phenomenon" is the right label is debatable; the viewing figures are solid, but Netflix offered no Season 3 chart data in the announcement. What is not in question is the cast. Kristen Bell and Adam Brody lead, joined by Justine Lupe, Timothy Simons, Jackie Tohn, Stephanie Faracy, Michael Hitchcock, Paul Ben-Victor, Tovah Feldshuh, Andrew Rannells, Sarah Silverman, Shiloh Bearman and Sherry Cola.

What does Season 4 build on?

Season 3, per Netflix's official description, finds Joanne (Bell) and Noah (Brody) "moving into a home — and a relationship — that finally feels solid," while Sasha (Simons) and Esther (Tohn) are "thrust back into the dating world, whether they like it or not." Morgan (Lupe) takes her career "to the next level, on her way to becoming an (almost) media sensation," and the logline teases that Sasha and Morgan "have been circling something neither of them has been able to admit to."

Erin Foster created the series and runs it with Konner and Kaplan, all three serving as executive producers. Bell also executive produces alongside Sara Foster, Nora Silver, Steven Levitan, Danielle Stokdyk, Jeff Morton and Oly Obst for 3arts. The series is produced by 20th Television and filmed in Los Angeles.

Off-screen friction, on-screen calm

Season 3 arrived with some turbulence. Brody restated his opposition to recent Israeli actions in Gaza against Palestinians, describing it as "a genocide." Feldshuh, his co-star, publicly disagreed: "to accuse the Jewish people of genocide is wild. It's right out of Hitler's playbook."

Feldshuh then addressed the exchange on Threads, saying there was no tension on set and that she "deeply" enjoys filming the show. Netflix has not commented on the exchange, and the renewal suggests the dispute carried no commercial penalty.

No premiere date, episode count or production start for Season 4 has been announced. What the renewal changes for viewers is simple: more of the Joanne-Noah story is guaranteed — the rest, including whether Season 4 can sustain the show's chart record, remains unproven.
