Olivia Rodrigo Opens Unraveled Tour in Hartford With Two Nights

Olivia Rodrigo opened her Unraveled Tour this weekend with two back-to-back nights at PeoplesBank Arena in Hartford, Connecticut, with Wolf Alice supporting.

The set centered on her third album, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So In Love, tracing what the record frames as a tragic love story from starry-eyed romance into painful separation. Rodrigo opened the show with the album's first song and lead single, "Drop Dead," which she began singing while lying down amid a field of pink flowers arranged onstage.

She did not follow the album's sequencing exactly, but she kept its arc intact. She also performed "Serena Joy," her recent single inspired by The Handmaids Tale, which she debuted last month at the first edition of her Daisy Chain Fields music festival.

Rodrigo drew heavily on her first two albums, Sour and Guts. The 23-song set list included "Driver's License," the breakout hit that launched her recording career, alongside "Traitor," "Vampire," "Good 4 U," "Favorite Crime," and "Bad Idea Right?" Night One closed with a three-song encore: "Deja Vu," "All-American Bitch," and "Expectations."

Next year the tour shifts into residency mode: Rodrigo will play three ten-night runs, one at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, one at Barclays Center in New York, and one at the O2 Arena in London. The three residencies add up to thirty arena shows in three cities alone, a scale that positions the Unraveled Tour among the most extensive pop outings of the cycle.
