The Paris Opéra Junior Ballet will make its American debut on July 23 and 24 at Jackson Hole's Center for the Arts in Wyoming. The company of 21 dancers performs as part of the annual summer gala held by Dancers' Workshop, the local dance education organization.

The mixed bill features four works. Julian Nicosia's "Eternal Rift," a contemporary piece created for the Junior Ballet that debuted in Malaysia earlier this season, arrives with costumes designed by Chanel — black unitards with gold embellishments. The program also includes George Balanchine's "Allegro Brillante," Maurice Béjart's "Cantate 51," and "Mi Favorita" by Paris Opéra Ballet dance director José Martinez.

After the performances, the dancers remain in Jackson Hole for a six-day residency with Dancers' Workshop. The residency includes an open rehearsal, a master class led by ballet mistress Béatrice Martel, and a dinner with moderated discussion at the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.

The Paris Opéra created the Junior Ballet in 2024. The company draws dancers ages 18 through 23 from across the globe, and the Jackson Hole visit marks its first appearance on American soil.

The engagement places the young company in established company. Previous Dancers' Workshop summer galas have featured San Francisco Ballet, Alonzo King LINES Ballet, the Martha Graham Dance Company and others, making the Wyoming festival an unlikely but consistent stop for major international troupes.

The residency format suggests the visit aims beyond performance: audiences and local dancers will see the Junior Ballet at work in rehearsal and class, an exposure that will test how the year-old company lands with American viewers ahead of any broader touring ambitions.
