Rosé will perform at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art's Art+Film Gala on Nov. 7, LACMA has announced. The evening honors "Dune" filmmaker Denis Villeneuve and artist Vija Celmins, as previously disclosed.

The K-pop star arrives with numbers few gala performers can match. Rosé has earned more than 10 billion solo streams to date with her first studio album, "rosie," according to the announcement. Her single "APT," a collaboration with Bruno Mars, received three Grammy nominations.

Who booked her — and why?

Museum trustee Eva Chow, who co-chairs the gala with Leonardo DiCaprio, framed the choice in a statement.

"The LACMA Art+Film Gala celebrates creative icons and the connections between all forms of creativity, all around the world," Chow said. "As a global pop superstar, Rosé will amplify the spirit of the evening with her incomparable talent and style."

Chow and DiCaprio remain the constant pairing behind the event. Gucci returns as the gala's presenting sponsor.

How big is this event?

LACMA Art+Film ranks among Los Angeles's most high-profile annual evenings. Roughly 600 guests attended in 2025, when the gala honored "Sinners" filmmaker Ryan Coogler and artist Mary Corse, with Doja Cat performing.

That edition raised a record $6.5 million. The funds support the museum's initiative to make film more central to its curatorial programming, alongside its broader mission — a sum averaging out to more than $10,000 per guest in attendance.

Last year's guest list drew heavily from film and music: Elle Fanning, Lorde, Angela Bassett, Cynthia Erivo, Tessa Thompson, Emma Roberts, Salma Hayek, Kerry Washington, Finneas, Quinta Brunson, Queen Latifah, Demi Moore, Demi Lovato, Kristen Wiig and Cristin Milioti, among others.

Past performers set a high bar. Charli XCX and Troye Sivan, Elton John, Lenny Kravitz, Annie Lennox, Beck, Stevie Wonder, Florence and the Machine, Anderson .Paak and Sting have all played the gala in previous years.

Rosé, a Korean New Zealander who first rose to fame as a member of Blackpink, slots into that lineage as the event's first announced performer from the K-pop world in recent memory.

What does the gala fund?

The beneficiary is LACMA itself — the largest art museum in the Western United States, holding a collection of more than 155,000 objects. Gala proceeds underwrite film-focused curatorial programming and the museum's general operations.

The 2025 total of $6.5 million set a fundraising record for the event. Whether Nov. 7 matches that figure may depend on the drawing power of a performer whose streaming audience now counts in the billions.

The pairing signals LACMA's continued bet that pop music's biggest names can anchor an art-world fundraiser — and that film, music and visual art belong on the same bill.
