Programme

  1. Wembley front standing tickets for Sam Fender's 2027 tour were listed at £130.75.

  3. Tickets go on general sale on Friday, with a presale on Wednesday morning.
  4. The Proper Massive tour runs across summer 2027, including St James's Park and the Etihad.
  5. Fender's duet Rein Me In with Olivia Dean spent 23 weeks at No 1, a UK record.

Sam Fender has promised to cut ticket prices for his 2027 Proper Massive stadium tour after standing tickets at Wembley were listed at up to £130.75. "They're getting changed," the 32-year-old musician told followers on Instagram.

The promise came in response to a post by Instagram user Gavin Davis, who shared the Wembley pricing breakdown. Standing tickets were split into two tiers: "front standing" at £130.75 and "standing" at £98.85. Seated tickets ranged from £64.75 to £130.75.

Fender did not mince words about his own tour's pricing.

What did Fender actually say?

"I'm not happy with these prices," Fender wrote in his reply. "It got inflated well more than I'd had in mind, it should only be inflated in relation to the cost of putting the show on."

He also criticised the practice of splitting standing areas into front and back tiers, calling it "bollocks" and saying it "won't be happening" on his tour.

"I have no idea how this was normalised in gigs," he added.

The promise lacks one thing: a number. Fender has not said what the new prices will be, or when they will be announced. Tickets go on sale on Friday, with a presale on Wednesday morning — a timeline that leaves little room for a revised pricing structure before sales open.

How expensive were tickets across the tour?

The Wembley prices were not outliers. Top ticket prices at other venues on the tour:

  • Newcastle: £112.90
  • Cardiff: £119
  • Edinburgh: £120.95
  • Manchester: £119.60

The tour opens in summer 2027 and takes in Newcastle's St James's Park, Cardiff's Principality Stadium, Dublin's Marley Park, Murrayfield in Edinburgh and the Etihad in Manchester.

Is this part of a wider pattern?

Fender is not the first pop star to publicly criticise prices for his own shows. In a TikTok post in August, the Swedish singer Zara Larsson agreed with fans that tickets for her Bangkok show were "very expensive" and said she wanted to be "more involved" with setting prices.

"I hate the fact that people genuinely want to come, but they can't because of the prices," Larsson said.

Both cases point to the same gap: artists disclaiming control over pricing decisions that carry their name. Neither Fender nor Larsson has specified how much say they actually have in the final figures.

What else is on Fender's schedule?

Earlier this week, Fender confirmed a fourth album is in progress. He has not released the title or cover art.

The North Shields-born singer is best known for the songs Hypersonic Missiles, Seventeen Going Under and People Watching. He has won five Brit awards and received the Mercury prize for his 2025 album People Watching.

Earlier this year, he rerecorded his single Rein Me In as a duet with the English singer-songwriter Olivia Dean. The track won 2026 song of the year at the Brit awards and spent 23 weeks at No 1 in the singles chart — the longest-running No 1 single in British history.

What does this change for fans? A commitment, not yet a price list. Until Fender announces revised figures, buyers facing Friday's sale have only his word that the cost of standing at Wembley will come down.
