Sienna Spiro closed her Austin City Limits debut with "Die on This Hill," and the stunned ACL audience gave her a standing ovation. The special premieres Oct. 3 at 9 p.m. EST on PBS and on ACL's YouTube page.

Spiro taped the hour-long set just days after the July release of her debut album, Visitor. The 13-song program includes her breakout single, which Rolling Stone premieres exclusively.

"This has really been such a special show," Spiro told the crowd before launching into the impassioned ballad.

The song's lyrics carried the performance. "I'll be here the whole night/I'll be here 'cause I can/I know you don't care," she sang. "I know nothing could matter/God, I wish something mattered to you." The record ended the set on a staggering high note from the singer-songwriter.

The ACL appearance caps a breakthrough stretch for the London artist. Earlier this week, Spiro won Best New Artist at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards. That night she performed a different cut from Visitor, "Great Expectation," backed by a band that appeared to number around two dozen musicians.

Spiro documented the evening on Instagram. "I just have no words for last night. On my last day of being 20, I got to perform at the VMAs. And I won an award!!! (I've never won anything before)," she wrote. "I was shittingggggg myself for the last few days leading up to this. Being a London girl on a big American stage is just mad and so daunting."

She added: "But I am just so grateful. grateful for my life and these opportunities, for the people around me who allow me to do this, and to God, because I just have no idea how any of this happened. I cried so many tears of joy. I cried, and Snoop Dogg gave me a hug."

The ACL broadcast gives Spiro her widest television platform since the Visitor rollout began, and it arrives with the album's songs already tested on two very different stages — an awards-show production with a two-dozen-piece band and an intimate Austin theater set.
