NBC's British offshoot "SNL U.K." opened its Saturday episode with a scripted royal reconciliation at Sandringham Estate, pairing Prince William and Kate with Prince Harry and Meghan — and crowning the sketch with an uninvited Prince Andrew.
Ayoade Bamgboye played Meghan opposite Jack Shep's Prince Harry, arriving at the estate on the strength of a mysterious red-envelope invitation. "They must want us to be royals again!" Bamgboye's Meghan declared, crediting her "famous brownie recipe: it's brownie and oven."
The nostalgia lasted seconds. "This is where your grandpa asked if I was related to Beyoncé," Meghan told Harry, to which Harry replied: "And this is where he asked if I was related to him!"
Who crashed the reunion?
Freddie Meredith's Prince William and Annabel Marlow's Kate arrived holding an identical red envelope — and no goodwill. "If it isn't Prince Ginger Pubes," William sneered. Marlow's Kate gestured at Meghan: "Oh look, William! It's the woman from 'Suits.'" Harry's retort: "Jokes on you, she's not on 'Suits' anymore. She doesn't do anything anymore!"
Larry Dean's King Charles and Emma Sidi's Queen Camilla followed, with Charles announcing: "I can't wait to tell mummy once I've died!" But the monarchs denied sending the invitation too.
The culprit entered with an evil laugh: George Fouracres as former prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor — stripped of his title over his links with Jeffrey Epstein. "Didn't you hear the good news? The search warrants were unlawful! That means it doesn't count. I'm innocent!" Fouracres' Andrew exclaimed.
When Dean's Charles began to admonish him — "That's Prince Andrew to you!" Andrew fired back — the King delivered the sketch's sharpest rebuke: "You're arrogant, you're entitled, you represent an outdated institution founded on centuries of war, tax evasion and slavery. And that's all great! But you've also been accused of terrible things, and that's where I draw the line."
How did it end?
The family agreed to one drink together. On one condition from Charles: "And that's it. Except for the million pounds I'll give you for the rest of your life."
Saturday's episode was hosted by Danny Dyer, with Sasha Keable as musical guest. The sketch confirms the royals as reliable cold-open material for the young franchise, which continues to mine the House of Windsor for its most pointed political comedy.
