Taylor Swift gave "The Fate of Ophelia" its live debut last night at the sixth annual Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles. The event raises funds for the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures.

The set didn't stop there. Swift also performed "Blank Space," "Love Story" and "I Knew It, I Knew You," the original song she wrote for Toy Story 5 earlier this year.

Who introduced her?

Conan O'Brien handled the honors. He and Swift both worked on Toy Story 5; O'Brien voices Smarty Pants, the film's potty-training gadget.

"It's an insane, unprecedented honor to introduce a cherished member of our little Toy Story 5 family," O'Brien said. "She's John, Paul, George and Ringo all in one. Taylor Swift."

Four Beatles in one person. A restrained assessment, by gala standards.

What has she released lately?

The performance follows The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore, an expanded edition of the 2025 album with four new tracks.

Earlier this month, Swift premiered the music video for "Patient Zero," starring Dakota Johnson and Colin Farrell, at the MTV Music Video Awards. There she won the inaugural Artist Director Honors and Video of the Year for "The Fate of Ophelia." Two awards, one ceremony, plus a video premiere. Efficient.

These songs mark her first new music since she married Travis Kelce at Madison Square Garden in July.

The gala slot keeps Swift's theatre-soaked Showgirl era in motion, and it gives the Academy Museum its most quoted introduction of the season. Expect "Ophelia" to anchor the setlist for a while.
