The Weeknd's 'After Hours Til Dawn' Tour Ends at $1.3 Billion
The Weeknd's 'After Hours Til Dawn' tour closed in Kuala Lumpur with a $1.3 billion gross, breaking Elton John's record for a male artist, Live Nation says.

Programme
- The Weeknd's 'After Hours Til Dawn' tour grossed over $1.3 billion, confirmed by Live Nation after the finale in Kuala Lumpur.
- The tour ranks third all-time behind Taylor Swift's 'Eras' ($2B+) and Coldplay's 'Music of the Spheres' ($1.5B+).
- The previous male-artist record was Elton John's 'Farewell Yellow Brick Road' at over $939 million.
- The run spanned 176 shows, 67 cities, 30 countries and five continents, selling more than 9 million tickets since July 2022.
- The Weeknd has donated $8.5 million to date to the XO Humanitarian Fund and Global Citizen.
The Weeknd's "After Hours Til Dawn" stadium tour has closed with a gross of more than $1.3 billion, breaking the record for the highest-grossing tour by a male artist in history. Tour promoter Live Nation confirmed the tally after the final performance at TM Stadium National in Kuala Lumpur.
The number deserves scrutiny, and Live Nation itself flags the caveat: recorded music has Luminate, but touring has no equivalent official chart. The $1.3 billion figure is the promoter's own accounting, not an independently audited ranking. Within that limitation, it stands as the third-largest tour gross in history, behind only Taylor Swift's "Eras" tour (over $2 billion) and Coldplay's "Music of the Spheres" (over $1.5 billion).
The previous male-artist record belonged to Elton John, whose "Farewell Yellow Brick Road" tour grossed over $939 million. The Weeknd has now pushed that benchmark past the $1.3 billion mark — a jump of roughly 38 percent over John's final tally.
How the tour got there
The Kuala Lumpur show ended a 17-date stadium run across Asia this fall. The leg was originally announced with 11 dates and expanded to 17 as demand grew, including three nights in Bangkok and four nights in Hong Kong, with multiple performances in every market on the run.
The full tour tells a bigger story:
- 176 shows since kicking off in July 2022
- 67 cities across 30 countries and five continents
- More than 9 million tickets sold as part of the $1.3 billion gross
- Legs spanning four years: North America, Europe, the UK, Latin America, Australia and Asia
The Weeknd returned for additional runs in nearly every territory. According to the announcement, the tour sold more than 3 million tickets and grossed over $500 million in 2026 alone — meaning roughly 40 percent of the tour's total gross came in its final stretch.
What does the record change?
For promoters, it confirms that a single male pop act can now sustain a four-year, five-continent stadium operation at a scale once reserved for legacy farewells. Elton John's record was set on a retirement tour; The Weeknd broke it on a living artist's ongoing catalogue cycle. That distinction matters for how Live Nation and its competitors plan long-run stadium residencies — though without an independent touring chart, every such "record" will rest on promoter-confirmed numbers.
The charity ledger
The tour also functioned as a fundraising vehicle. The Weeknd has donated $8.5 million to date to the XO Humanitarian Fund and Global Citizen, supporting global hunger relief and access to quality education for children worldwide.
In 2026 alone, $3 million has been raised for the United Nations World Food Programme and Global Citizen. This year's contributions to Global Citizen will back a new campaign focused on breaking down barriers facing women and girls in health, education and economic opportunity.
With the Kuala Lumpur finale, the touring record books now read Swift, Coldplay, The Weeknd — and the next male challenger will need to clear a bar set $360 million higher than Elton John's.
