Paramount+ will premiere the fourth and final season of "Yellowjackets" on Nov. 20. The streamer released the teaser trailer, confirming the survivors have left the wilderness and returned to New Jersey after 19 months.
The series has followed an all-girls high school soccer team stranded after a plane crash. Paramount+ describes their arc as "their descent from a complicated but thriving team to savage clans, while also tracking the lives they've attempted to piece back together nearly 25 years later, proving that the past is never really past and what began out in the wilderness is far from over."
The timeline split remains the show's structural spine: teenage survivors in the woods, adults 25 years later. Season 4 adds a third stage — the aftermath of rescue.
What does the final season change?
The rescue ends the wilderness chapter after 19 months and, in the official description's count, "a number of brutal deaths." The girls are adjusting to life back in New Jersey.
The season logline reads: "As the survivors race to bury their sins before rescue arrives and an old flame roars back into town with plans of her own, turns out not every homecoming is a joyous one, and this one's going to sting."
The "old flame" tease signals a new arrival with her own agenda. The show's creators have not named the character in the materials released so far.
Who returns for Season 4?
Fifteen series regulars are back:
- Melanie Lynskey
- Christina Ricci
- Tawny Cypress
- Sophie Nélisse
- Jasmin Savoy Brown
- Sophie Thatcher
- Samantha Hanratty
- Courtney Eaton
- Liv Hewson
- Warren Kole
- Kevin Alves
- Sarah Desjardins
- Nia Sondaya
- Jenna Burgess
- Hilary Swank
The guest cast includes June Squibb, Elijah Wood, Molly Ringwald, Devon Sawa, Sam Braun and Dulé Hill.
Who runs the show?
Showrunners and co-creators Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson executive produce. Drew Comins of Creative Engine, Jonathan Lisco, Jeff W. Byrd, Sarah L. Thompson, Ameni Rozsa and Julia Bicknell also serve as executive producers. Lionsgate Television produces the series for Showtime.
All previous seasons are streaming on Paramount+ with the Premium plan.
The Nov. 20 premiere gives the series one final season to resolve a body count built across 19 wilderness months — and the question its own logline poses: what followed the survivors home.
