Paramount+ has renewed "Avatar: Seven Havens" for Seasons 3 and 4 — Books 3 and 4 in ATLA parlance — announcing the pickup onstage at the show's New York Comic-Con panel on Friday, the same day the series launched on the platform.
The first three episodes of "Seven Havens" are now streaming on Paramount+. Three additional episodes will drop each Friday through Oct. 30. Book 2 does not yet have a premiere date.
Who made the announcement?
The panel featured "Avatar" creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, alongside "Seven Havens" executive producer Ethan Spaulding, co-executive producer Sehaj Sethi, and voice actors Saheli Khan, Aishu Devan, and Major Curda. Janet Varney, who voiced Korra in "Legend of Korra," moderated.
What is 'Seven Havens' about?
The official logline reads: "Set in a world shattered by a devastating cataclysm, 'Avatar: Seven Havens' follows Pavi, a young Earthbender who discovers she's the new Avatar after Korra, only to find that in this dangerous era, that title marks her as humanity's destroyer, not its savior. Hunted by both human and spirit enemies, Pavi and her long-lost twin Nisha must uncover their mysterious origins and save the Seven Havens before civilization's last strongholds collapse."
The voice cast also includes:
- Akshay Khanna as Karthik
- Sakina Jaffrey as Agam
- Darren Barnet as Daemin
- Dianne Doan as Zi
- Dee Bradley Baker as Geet and Ruhi
DiMartino and Konietzko created the series and executive produce via Avatar Studios. Spaulding serves as executive producer, with Sethi as co-executive producer. Nickelodeon and Avatar Studios produce.
What else did the panel reveal?
The renewal was not the panel's only news. The creators also announced that the animated series "Avatar Kuruk: Wave of Chaos" has been ordered at Paramount+. That show follows the Water Tribe Avatar Kuruk, who lived three generations before Aang.
With two additional books secured before Book 1 has finished airing, and a second Avatar-focused series now in the works, Paramount+ has committed to the franchise's expansion well beyond its launch week.
