PGA Tour Studios has named Brian Gordon executive producer and head of live content. According to the studio, Gordon starts October 26 and reports to Luis Goicouria, executive vice president and general manager of PGA Tour Studios. His remit includes more than 4,000 hours of live golf.

The studio says Gordon will lead editorial vision and creative execution across its live programming. The move gives one executive control over both editorial direction and on-air production, extending the studio’s control over content at a time when its live footprint is expanding.

What does the appointment change?

Luis Goicouria said in a prepared statement: “Live competition is at the heart of how fans experience the PGA Tour, and we have a tremendous opportunity to continue raising the bar in how we bring it to them.”

In the same statement, Goicouria said: “Brian brings extensive experience across sports broadcast and production, along with a strong track record of innovation. His leadership will help us continue to evolve our live product and bring fans closer to our players and the competition.”

Takeaway: Gordon now answers for live editorial standards and execution across the studio.

What will Gordon oversee?

He will supervise live production for more than 4,000 hours of PGA Tour Live on the ESPN App. He will also oversee live production for two other properties:

  • PGA Tour Champions
  • The Korn Ferry Tour

He will also oversee recent programming enhancements:

  • Quiet Please
  • Betcast presented by DraftKings

Gordon will also guide the Tour’s live production strategy, which the studio says expanded in 2026 through PGA Tour Live coverage of The Sentry and FedExCup Playoffs on ESPN linear platforms. Further development is planned for 2027 and beyond.

Takeaway: Live golf production now runs through one executive at PGA Tour Studios.

What experience does he bring?

PGA Tour Studios says Gordon brings more than three decades, or more than 30 years, of experience in sports production, broadcasting and media. He most recently served as global head of programming and audience at Motorsport Network. There, he oversaw a global team producing daily editorial, social and video content across the company’s digital and social platforms.

Before that, Gordon was senior vice president and executive producer for the National Women’s Soccer League. His NWSL tenure covered more than 300 live domestic, world and local broadcasts, along with managing relationships with CBS, ESPN and Prime Video, among others.

He also produced the NWSL’s first Prime Video docuseries, “For the Win: NWSL.” Earlier roles include the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee, NBC Sports, Indianapolis Motor Speedway Productions and ABC Sports.

Takeaway: His record spans motorsport, soccer, Olympic media and national television production.

Where does the live strategy go next?

Gordon will work with Ryan Holcomb, named senior vice president and head of original content last month, as PGA Tour Studios continues to expand live and original programming.

Gordon said in a statement: “The PGA Tour showcases the most compelling competition in professional golf, and live production plays an important role in how fans experience it.”

In the same statement, Gordon said: “There is already a great foundation in place, and I look forward to working with the team to continue pushing the live product forward through great storytelling, innovative coverage and world-class execution.”

PGA Tour Studios points to continued live strategy development in 2027 and beyond, with Gordon leading that pursuit.

Takeaway: From October 26, Gordon will develop the live strategy the studio plans to extend through 2027 and beyond.
