The Cleveland Orchestra has announced the vocal lineup of its 2026-27 digital season on Adella, its streaming platform. Six programs run from October 2026 through January 2027, with Franz Welser-Möst conducting three of them.

Soprano Golda Schultz opens the vocal slate on Oct. 6, 2026, headlining Richard Strauss' "Four Last Songs." Welser-Möst conducts the showcase, which also features Shostakovich's Symphony No. 8.

On Oct. 24, 2026, the Cleveland Orchestra Chorus and members of The Cleveland Orchestra perform under conductors Lisa Wong and Eric Whitacre. The program pairs John Corigliano's "Fern Hill" with the U.S. premiere of Whitacre's "Eternity in an Hour," a co-commission of The Cleveland Orchestra.

Soprano Julia Kleiter and baritone Lucas Meachem follow as the soloists in Brahms' "Ein deutsches Requiem," streaming Nov. 8, 2026. Petr Popelka conducts a program that also includes Adolphus Hailstork's "Distant Lands: Triptych for Oboe and Strings," a Cleveland Orchestra commission, with oboist Frank Rosenwein as soloist.

Welser-Möst returns on Jan. 5, 2027, to lead Bernd Richard Deutsch's "Ugworte."

Eleven days later, on Jan. 16, 2027, a quartet of soloists assembles for Beethoven's "Missa Solemnis": soprano Golda Schultz in her second appearance of the season, mezzo-soprano Taylor Raven, tenor Julian Prégardien and bass Anthony Schneider. Welser-Möst conducts.

The vocal series closes on Jan. 17, 2027, with the "Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration Concert," featuring the Cleveland Orchestra and the Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration Chorus under conductor Taichi Fukumura.

The season pairs repertoire cornerstones — Brahms, Beethoven, Strauss — with new music from living composers, including two Cleveland Orchestra commissions. That balance signals Adella's continuing role as a venue of record for the orchestra's contemporary programming as well as its core canon.
