For Love & Lemons launched four limited “A Court of Thorns and Roses” mini collections on Oct. 22, five days before Sarah J. Maas’s sixth novel, “A Court of Splintered Harmony,” releases.

The Los Angeles-based label organized the collection around four themes from Maas’s romantasy series: “The First Bloom of Spring,” “Welcome to the Night Court,” “Under Starfall Skies” and “A Dance of Silver Flames.” Each group draws on the fictional world of Prythian.

For Love & Lemons rejected the most familiar licensing devices, including book-cover graphics and branded sweatshirts. The capsule instead uses corsetry, lace, romantic florals and embellished eveningwear to establish a visual identity for the series.

“This collection has been over a year in the making, and it was born out of true passion,” For Love & Lemons co-founder Gillian Kern said of the partnership. “We love the way Sarah J. Maas uses fashion to evoke a mood.”

The four edits translate particular parts of the books into clothes rather than selling one generalized version of the franchise. “The First Bloom of Spring” uses pastel florals and delicate lace, including the $639 Rose of the Manor Gown.

  • “The First Bloom of Spring”: Pastel florals and delicate lace define the Spring Court-inspired pieces, led by the $639 Rose of the Manor Gown.
  • “Welcome to the Night Court”: The darker assortment includes the $629 Night Court Mini Dress and the $829 Moonveil Gown.
  • “Under Starfall Skies” and “A Dance of Silver Flames”: Celestial Starfall designs and references to Nesta and the Valkyries complete the offer. Prices range from a $398 beaded mini skirt to a $729 gown.

Several garments also feature custom embroidery, hand-beaded detailing and intricate embellishments. These construction choices give the capsule more specificity than a standard logo-driven release. Each garment carries a court, character or narrative reference that shoppers can identify.

According to For Love & Lemons, production is limited and the designs will not be restocked once they sell out. The Storykeeper Dress and Dance with Fire Gown have already sold out, while other pieces remain listed as coming soon.

What does this change for ACOTAR readers?

The practical change is access: fans can buy clothing keyed to specific courts and characters, but scarcity shortens the buying window. The capsule also demonstrates how publishing, apparel, fragrance and mass retail now operate around a shared release calendar rather than separate promotional schedules.

For Love & Lemons’s launch forms part of a broader merchandising push surrounding the forthcoming sixth ACOTAR novel. The companies involved cover several levels of the book market, from intimate apparel and fragrance to character toys and nationwide store events.

  • Knix recently debuted an ACOTAR-inspired collection of lingerie, sleepwear and underwear.
  • Fine’ry released four ACOTAR-themed scents.
  • Funko Pop and Loungefly rolled out character figurines and accessories, respectively.
  • Target launched jewelry, apparel and collectibles, with midnight release celebrations planned at approximately 250 stores on Oct. 26.
  • Barnes & Noble will host similar events at more than 500 locations nationwide.

The fashion launch therefore arrives as part of an unusually broad release strategy, rather than as an isolated garment collection. Target and Barnes & Noble will begin their events before publication, while Knix, Fine’ry, Funko Pop and Loungefly extend the series across categories that readers encounter outside bookshops.

With two styles already sold out, additional pieces marked as coming soon and no restocks promised, shoppers will have a narrow window to acquire the capsule. Oct. 27 supplies the first full test of whether this theme-specific fashion launch can turn interest in the sixth novel into sustained sales.
