Harry Styles ended his record-breaking Together, Together residency at Madison Square Garden on Oct. 31 after 30 nights. New York Knicks point guard Jalen Brunson took the stage to mark the occasion and presented Styles with a banner celebrating the consecutive stretch of shows.
The presentation came during the second night of Styles' back-to-back Harryween performances. Brunson wore a "Techno Is My Boyfriend" hat that Styles has been photographed with. The two shared a quick hug as the audience cheered.
Styles had played Madison Square Garden every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday for the past 10 weeks. The Oct. 31 finale brought the run to a close.
What did the Halloween shows include?
Harryween has become known for costumes, and this year delivered. Earlier in the evening on Oct. 31, Styles dressed up as a New York City rat and sang a rendition of "Psycho Killer" by the Talking Heads.
On Friday, he wore an Elvis costume. He later changed into the outfit he wore at his X Factor audition and performed Stevie Wonder's "Isn't She Lovely" — the same song he used to audition for the show.
A banner with history
The banner is not Styles' first at the arena. In 2022, he completed a 15-night run at Madison Square Garden and received a commemorative banner during his final show.
"Any time that you come to Madison Square Garden and you see that, remember it's because of you. That is ours," he told the crowd that night. "I'm gonna come back when everyone is gone, and just sit and look at that for a while."
Styles returned to that memory this month, on the second anniversary of the death of his One Direction bandmate Liam Payne. He reflected on what the banner means to him now.
"It means a lot to be able to look up there at my name up there from the last tour," he said. "There are so many people, friends, and people that I've worked with, that I would've never been able to do this without."
What does the residency change for Styles?
The Together, Together tour made stops in Amsterdam, London, Brazil and Mexico City before landing in New York. Its theme has centered on the shared experience of music and the hope and human connection it sustains — a message that now anchors a 30-night stand in one venue, doubling the length of his 2022 MSG run.
Styles has put that idea into song on the Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally standout "Carla's Song": "It's all waiting there for you."
With the residency closed and a second banner hanging in the rafters, the question is where the tour's celebration of connection travels next.
