Harry Styles Finally Performs 'Ever Since New York' at MSG Residency

Harry Styles performed "Ever Since New York" for the first time in four years on Wednesday night, breaking it out during night 28 of his 30-date residency at Madison Square Garden. The song had never appeared at this sold-out run until now.

Styles delivered the track toward the end of the show, armed with a hollow-body electric guitar. "Sing it out, Madison Square Garden," he told the audience. The sold-out crowd obliged, screaming every lyric.

The moment carried extra weight for a New York audience. Styles wrote "Ever Since New York" as a confessional track for his self-titled solo debut album, released in 2017. It has been a fan favorite since, especially in that city.

The performance also closed a loop in the singer's history with the venue. The last time Styles sang the song live was during his first MSG residency, part of the Love on Tour trek — making Wednesday's rendition a full-circle moment in a residency already full of them.

What happens next at the Garden?

Another full-circle moment arrives this week. Styles wraps the residency on Halloween, reviving the "Harryween" celebration he staged in 2022, when he dressed up in costume for concerts falling on the holiday.

At Wednesday's show, Styles poked fun at Americans who "love Halloween so much." He then previewed the weekend's closing blow-out in his own style.

"I'd just like to take a moment before because the next time we'll be on this stage I'll be dressed as some sort of slutty pumpkin or something," the musician said.

He closed the night with gratitude, thanking his band, his crew, Madison Square Garden employees and the audience. "It's been an absolute pleasure," Styles said.

The residency ends October 31, capping 30 nights at one venue — a run few artists of any era have attempted, and one Styles marked with a deep cut his fans had waited four years to hear again.
