  3. During "Encore," Jay-Z rebuffed unconfirmed reports of plummeting ticket prices and warned about AI-driven misinformation.

  5. The prior SoFi night featured Blue Ivy, Scarface, DJ Khaled and John Legend.

Jay-Z closed the final gig of his Jay-Z 30 Tour on Saturday at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, bringing out Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre and Too Short for a West Coast medley. The show was the rapper's second consecutive night at the venue.

Too Short opened the guest run, performing his 2006 hit "Blow the Whistle," with Jay-Z adding his "Playoff" freestyle over the track. Later, Jay-Z rapped his own "D'Evils" over the beat of Snoop Dogg's "Murder Was the Case" — at which point Snoop walked out. Dr. Dre followed, and Jay-Z handed the stage to the G-funk duo (the synth-heavy West Coast hip-hop sound Dre pioneered) for a run through "The Next Episode," "California Love," "Nothin' But a 'G' Thang" and "Still D.R.E."

What did Jay-Z say about ticket rumors?

Before the gig, unconfirmed social media reports claimed Saturday's ticket prices had plummeted, with some tickets given away for free. During "Encore," Jay-Z addressed the rumors head-on — and widened the point to artificial intelligence.

"You gotta be really real with what's going on in the world," Jay-Z said, in comments reported by Variety. "People will tell you that nobody was in here tonight, but you got eyes. You can see. People will tell you that the music wasn't great, but you got ears."

He framed the moment as an old problem wearing new clothes. "You gotta understand, you gotta question everything. This world with AI and everything, it's been going on forever. They called it propaganda before. But now, the technology has caught up and people are tricked. A lot of tricknology for us… Make sure you question everything you feel."

How did the rest of the run go?

The previous night at SoFi delivered its own string of guests. Jay-Z brought out his daughter Blue Ivy for "The Story of O.J." and "Dead Presidents," Geto Boys rapper Scarface for "This Can't Be Life" and "Mind Playing Tricks," and DJ Khaled and John Legend for a show-closing "God Did."

The retrospective Jay-Z 30 Tour opened in July with three star-studded nights at New York's Yankee Stadium, followed by stops in London and Paris. Saturday's SoFi finale, stacked with Dre and Snoop, completed the arc: a career survey that closed on the West Coast collaborators who shaped the sound Jay-Z spent three decades competing with and borrowing from. Whether the AI-and-rumors speech gets a life beyond the encore — on record, or in future shows — remains to be seen.
