"Entertainment Tonight" hosts Kevin Frazier and Nischelle Turner will serve as co-grand marshals of the 94th Hollywood Christmas Parade on Nov. 29. The CW Network will broadcast the event nationally on Dec. 18 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, with an encore airing on Dec. 24.
Associated Television International presents the parade in association with the City of Los Angeles. Erik Estrada and Laura McKenzie will host, with Montel Williams and Elizabeth Stanton serving as parade co-hosts. The taping also feeds an international broadcast on the Armed Forces Network during the holiday season.
"We're thrilled to be chosen as co-grand marshals of this year's Hollywood Christmas Parade," Frazier and Turner said in a joint statement Thursday morning. "It's an honor to be part of this historic Hollywood tradition that brings so much joy to the community. We can't wait to see the smiling faces of Angelenos who come out each year to celebrate and support Toys for Tots."
The parade supports Marine Toys for Tots, the Marine Corps' toy-donation program, and the marshals' statement put that charity link front and center.
What can audiences expect this year?
The lineup runs to 5,000 participants. According to the organizers, the program includes:
- Hollywood celebrities from film, television and stage
- Musical performances
- Four-story character balloons, described as larger-than-life
- Colorful floats, novelties and famous movie cars
- A closing appearance by Santa Claus and his reindeer
When and where does it happen?
The parade steps off at 6 p.m. on Nov. 29, following pre-parade entertainment that begins at 5:30 p.m. The route covers 3.2 miles in a U-shape: it starts at Orange Street and Hollywood Boulevard, runs east on Hollywood Boulevard to Vine Street, turns south on Vine to Sunset Boulevard, then heads west on Sunset back to Orange Street.
Grandstand bleacher seats go on sale through Ticketmaster, with gates opening at 4 p.m. — two hours before the parade itself moves.
What does the broadcast deal change for viewers?
For anyone outside Los Angeles, the arrangement is straightforward: you don't need a ticket or a trip to Hollywood Boulevard. The CW carries the taped parade into national primetime on Dec. 18, and the Armed Forces Network extends the reach to service members and their families overseas during the holiday season.
The dual-platform setup fits the event's history. Now in its 94th year, the parade has long functioned as both a street celebration for Angelenos and a televised holiday fixture. This year's edition pairs two familiar broadcast faces — Frazier and Turner anchor "Entertainment Tonight," the syndicated entertainment news show — with a hosting bench, Estrada, McKenzie, Williams and Stanton, drawn largely from television. If the marshals' promised community turnout materializes on Nov. 29, the taped broadcast three weeks later will give the rest of the country the same front-row view.
