Programme
- Marianna Hovanisyan has joined Intermusica's Vocal & Opera roster for worldwide general management.
- This season she sings Pamina in Die Zauberflöte and a Blümenmädchen in Parsifal at the Royal Ballet & Opera.
- Future engagements include Operalia in Shanghai and debuts with the Berliner Philharmoniker and Osterfestspiele Salzburg.
Armenian soprano Marianna Hovanisyan has joined the Vocal & Opera roster of Intermusica, the London-based agency confirmed, taking on worldwide general management of her career.
The signing lands mid-season for a singer with growing Covent Garden credentials. Hovanisyan is an alumna of the Jette Parker Artists' Programme at the Royal Ballet & Opera, and this season she returns to that house in two productions: she sings Pamina in Sir David McVicar's production of Mozart's "Die Zauberflöte" and appears as a Blümenmädchen in Evgeny Titov's new staging of Wagner's "Parsifal."
Hovanisyan's competition record spans five years and three countries. In 2023 she took the Audience Prize, the Eva Kleinitz Award and The Beckwith Foundation Award at the CLIP Portofino International Singing Competition. In 2020 she received the Presidential Prize for Young Opera Singers in Armenia. A year earlier, in 2019, she won first prize at the Gohar Gasparyan National Singing Competition.
Her diary ahead points to a step up in scale. Future projects include participation in Operalia in Shanghai, the competition founded by Plácido Domingo that has launched a generation of major careers, plus debut appearances with the Berliner Philharmoniker and at the Osterfestspiele Salzburg.
Intermusica has been building its vocal roster with a run of recent signings. The agency's announcements this season include the Estonian soprano Mirjam Mesak, the conductor Diego Matheuz and the conductor Edward Nelson, all joining for general management.
For Hovanisyan, the Berliner Philharmoniker and Salzburg Easter Festival debuts, now under Intermusica's management, will test whether her competition pedigree converts into top-tier international engagements.
