Michael C. Hall Returns as Aging Dexter in 'Resurrection' Season 2 Trailer

Michael C. Hall is back as Dexter Morgan. Paramount+ has released the trailer for "Dexter: Resurrection" Season 2, showing an older, wiltering vigilante confronting new enemies — including, per the show's own logline, "a mid-life crisis."

The trailer positions Dexter between two killers. According to the logline released by the streamer, the character is "caught between two killers – one with decades of notoriety and a lifetime of kills behind him, and the other a fresh young face terrorizing New York in ways no one has ever seen. Meanwhile, Dexter battles a new and unexpected enemy: a mid-life crisis."

The season also advances the father-son storyline. "Harrison (Jack Alcott) continues his own pursuit of justice as father and son face their darkest chapter yet," the logline continues.

The cast carries considerable weight. Uma Thurman, Jack Alcott, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, Kadia Saraf, Dominic Fumusa, Desmond Harrington and James Remar star, with Krysten Ritter guest starring. New arrivals this season include Dan Stevens, Bokeem Woodbine, Nona Parker Johnson and Brian Cox. Gabriel Luna joins as a guest star.

Clyde Phillips runs the show. He executive produces alongside Hall, Scott Reynolds, Marcos Siega, Tony Hernandez and Lilly Burns. John Goldwyn, Sara Colleton, Veronica West, Kirsa Rein, Tanner Bean and Katrina Mathewson also serve as executive producers.

The series comes from Paramount Television Studios and Counterpart Studios. "Dexter: Resurrection" Season 2 premieres Oct. 30 on Paramount+, available only to subscribers on the Premium Plan.

The premiere date gives the franchise its second consecutive autumn run under Phillips, who has steered the series since its original 2006 debut — and sets up a direct test of whether an aged Dexter Morgan can still command the audience that made the character a defining antihero of peak TV.
