Netflix has renewed the adult animated comedy "Haunted Hotel" for a third season, set to return in 2027 with a target of 10 episodes.

Series creator Matt Roller confirmed the scripts are already written. Speaking earlier this month on "The Bulwark Goes to Hollywood" podcast, the former "Rick & Morty" writer said the creative team is aiming for a ten-episode run.

"I'm so excited to invite viewers back to the Undervale," Roller said in a statement about the renewal. "Season 3 is full of the biggest, funniest, scariest, saddest and 'Abaddoniest' stories we've ever told, and I can't wait for everyone to see them. Candles!"

The show follows a single mother who runs the Undervale, the world's most haunted hotel. She raises her two children while managing a stream of supernatural guests, helped by her ghost brother, a demon trapped in a young boy's body and a growing collection of otherworldly friends.

Who is coming back for Season 3?

The voice cast returns intact. Will Forte, Eliza Coupe, Skyler Gisondo, Natalie Palamides and Jimmi Simpson all reprise their roles in the new season.

Behind the scenes, Roller executive produces alongside Chris McKenna, Steve Levy and Dan Harmon. Harmon, co-creator of "Rick & Morty," previously worked with Erica Hayes, who serves as supervising director on "Haunted Hotel." Titmouse is the animation studio, with Chris Prynoski, Shannon Prynoski, Antonio Canobbio and Ben Kalina also credited as executive producers.

How is the series performing?

The numbers back Netflix's decision. Season 2 premiered earlier this month and debuted on the Global English TV Top 10 list. Season 1, released in September 2025, has drawn more than 15 million views to date.

That is a fast trajectory for an adult animation property in a crowded field, and it places the series among the platform's more durable genre comedies barely a month into its second season.

What does this change for the show?

The early renewal secures the Undervale's future through 2027 and gives Roller's writers room to plan long-form story arcs rather than react to week-to-week performance. With scripts finished before the pickup announcement, production can move straight ahead — a scheduling advantage that increasingly separates renewed animated series from those left waiting on audience data.

Viewers can expect the ten-episode third season on Netflix in 2027.
