Netflix Canada's first original series, "North of North," returns for a second season on Thursday, leading a week of television that also brings midterm election coverage across the news networks.
The sitcom, set in a small Arctic community, drops all eight of its new episodes at once on Netflix. Siaja, played by Anna Lambe, wants to expand her horizons and prove her worth. The season promises speed dating, a water crisis and a major storm.
What else premieres this week?
The broadcast slate opens Monday at 8 p.m. on NBC, with a third season of "St. Denis Medical." The mockumentary returns to a fictional hospital in Oregon, where an office romance is brewing and staffers are fighting for leadership positions. One doctor is on medical leave while recovering from surgery. Damon Wayans guest stars as a doctor. Ariana Madix reprises her role as the cardiac surgeon Dr. Brooke Emerson.
Owen Wilson is also back. He plays Pryce Cahill, an ex-pro golfer, in "Stick," which begins streaming Wednesday on Apple TV. The second season follows Pryce as he starts to believe that he might still have a future in the sport himself, while helping the career of his protégé Santi, played by Peter Dager. Rhea Seehorn joins the cast. The first two episodes air together, with subsequent ones releasing weekly.
Friday brings "It Gets Worse" to Paramount+. In the new series, three friends try to find humor in stressful financial situations. Ethan (Leo Reich), Sam (Olive Gray) and Abi (Emily Fairn) met in college, are now in their mid-20s, and face eviction from their apartment after a rent hike. Andrew Scott and Lena Dunham are set to make appearances.
Can a legal drama out-camp its first season?
"All's Fair" returns Wednesday on Hulu for a second season, with the women of an all-female law firm — Birkins in tow — trying to keep their practice afloat. Kim Kardashian, who plays Allura Grant, addressed the show's direction in a red carpet interview. She said the new season will lean into "camp," noting that while filming Season 1 they did not think of the show as a comedy, but that is how fans received it. Three episodes drop together, with the subsequent five airing weekly.
What does this week change for viewers?
The schedule rewards two habits. Streaming subscribers get binge options — "North of North" releases its full season at once — while weekly-release shows such as "Stick" and "All's Fair" spread their episodes across the coming weeks. Broadcast viewers get "St. Denis Medical" in a fixed Monday slot, alongside the news networks' midterm election coverage.

With a returning Arctic sitcom, a golf dramedy and a self-aware legal drama all landing within five days, the week offers the fullest slate of premieres since the start of the season.
