Programme

  1. The 'Shroom Clouds' video shows a crashed cop car painted with the date '30 OCT 2026'.
  2. Rocky directed the video with Aisulton Seitov and Pietro Biz Biasia.
  3. He first performed the track in 2021 as 'Mushroom Clouds' at a 4/20 Weedmaps event.
  4. The song will appear on Disc 2, the deluxe edition of Don't Be Dumb, released in January.
  5. Rocky told Rolling Stone that Disc 2 is 'an extension of Don't Be Dumb'.

A crashed police car, wedged halfway up a brick building in New York, carries the painted date "30 OCT 2026" — and it appears in the final stretch of A$AP Rocky's new video for "Shroom Clouds," released last week.

Rocky directed the video alongside Aisulton Seitov and Pietro Biz Biasia. It opens in a hippie idyll where, according to the source report, even elderly women knitting on park benches take a toke. When the song's breezy comedown arrives, the visuals return to New York City, where Rocky has apparently been sitting on a stoop the whole time.

The track itself leans psychedelic: woozy instrumentals, pitch-shifted vocals. Reggie sings the chorus and bridge; Jeremih delivers the outro.

How long has this song been waiting?

Longer than most. Rocky first performed it in 2021 — then titled "Mushroom Clouds" — at a 4/20 event for Weedmaps. He shared a snippet at Governors Ball that same year and again at an Amazon Music Live event in 2022. Only now has the finished version arrived.

What does this change for the album?

"Shroom Clouds" is set to appear on Disc 2, the upcoming deluxe edition of Rocky's most recent album, Don't Be Dumb, released in January. No official release date exists for Disc 2. The painted "30 OCT 2026" on the crashed cop car is the only date on offer — and it comes without confirmation, planted in a frame viewers must catch themselves.

Speaking to Rolling Stone, Rocky framed Disc 2 as "an extension of Don't Be Dumb," not the next chapter of his career. "The next chapter is, you know, I don't really want to get too far ahead of myself," he said, "but the inspiration behind it was Denzel and Spike Lee, you know, Malcolm X. I'm ready to go redhead on them, go stupid, you know."

A deluxe edition billed as an extension is a modest promise. The Denzel Washington and Spike Lee references suggest Rocky's ambitions point toward film, but he stops short of naming a project. If 30 October 2026 holds, listeners will wait more than a year and a half for it — assuming the painted date is a date at all, and not another hallucination in a video built around them.
