Netflix will premiere the final season of Amelia Dimoldenberg's interview series "Chicken Shop Date" on Oct. 2, simultaneously releasing it on the host's YouTube and social media channels. The deal, confirmed in an exclusive announcement, also brings the show's full back catalog to the platform.

Past episodes joining Netflix include interviews with Andrew Garfield, Damson Idris, Central Cee, Sabrina Carpenter, Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman and Jack Harlow.

How did 'Chicken Shop Date' get here?

Dimoldenberg launched the series in 2014. She has since hosted 115 episodes of the deadpan, flirty digital talk show, filmed in local chicken shops and driven by her British comedic sensibilities. Early episodes largely featured British rappers; over time the guest list shifted to A-list singers and movie stars including Jennifer Lawrence, Paul Mescal, Cynthia Erivo and Paul McCartney.

The series won a 2022 Streamy Award for best indie series. Time magazine named Dimoldenberg to its inaugural Time100 Creators list in 2025. She has also served as the Academy's social media ambassador and red carpet correspondent at the Oscars for the past three years.

What did Dimoldenberg say about the deal?

"From self-releasing our very first episode of Chicken Shop Date to partnering with Netflix, this journey has been all about connecting directly with people who love the show," Dimoldenberg said. "I'm thrilled that our catalog is expanding its reach with Netflix, bringing our dates to a whole new world of fans without losing our original essence."

Dimoldenberg directs the series and produces under her Dimz Inc. banner. Diara Vassallo Ndiaye and Zoe Dimoldenberg also produce; Ashleigh Kybert serves as head of content and social.

Why is Netflix licensing creator content?

The deal forms part of Netflix's broader effort to get into business with creators as it competes with YouTube. The company has licensed a bevy of popular video podcasts and greenlit some of its own. It has also picked up food and cooking content from Mythical Kitchen and Nick DiGiovanni, children's programming such as "Danny Go!", and partnerships with media brands — including Variety — to license editorial content on the platform.

The Oct. 2 debut will test whether an eleven-year-old web-native format can carry a global streaming audience through its final run — and what Netflix's creator-licensing push yields next.
