Barry Manilow canceled his Friday and Saturday shows at the International Theater inside the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino, one day after returning to the stage from a six-week hiatus tied to lung cancer recovery.

His Thursday night concert marked the singer's first performance since Aug. 22, ending a stretch of dates skipped to allow his body to heal from the cancer he revealed in December 2025.

"After a triumphant welcome-back concert on Thursday, Barry got hit with bronchitis and had to cancel his Friday and Saturday shows," a representative for the musician told Variety.

What happened on Friday night?

The Friday show did not finish. According to Vital Vegas, Manilow stopped performing after just two songs and walked offstage. The bronchitis diagnosis came less than 48 hours after his comeback concert.

How was the lung cancer first detected?

The diagnosis surfaced through an MRI scan taken while Manilow was already recovering from a separate bout of bronchitis. The two illnesses now bookend a recovery arc that has run almost a full year, with the same respiratory infection playing a leading role at both ends.

What does the residency timeline look like?

Manilow's Westgate run was originally scheduled to begin in February. He postponed it to March after surgery. In May, he told fans on X that his doctor considered him making "great progress" but wasn't "quite ready" for the May dates.

The post captured his tone: "Good news! I went to the doctor yesterday and he said I'm making great progress and look great. Well of course I do! Thank you very much!"

The medical advice also carried a delay: "He did say, however, that I'm not quite ready for Vegas. That means I won't be able to return for our May shows at [Westgate Las Vegas]."

He moved the Las Vegas dates to July and pointed fans toward his June UK arena run.

What does this change for ticket holders?

Anyone holding Friday or Saturday Westgate tickets will need to wait on the venue for refunds or rescheduling. Manilow's next confirmed performances are the June UK arena shows, with the Westgate residency slated to resume in July.

That July opening would mark the residency's third scheduled restart, after the postponed February and March launches.

Bronchitis has been both the warning sign and the recurring obstacle. It first sent Manilow for the scan that caught his cancer, and it has now cut short his return concert after two songs. Whether the July Westgate dates finally hold is the practical question shaping the rest of his touring calendar.
