Epcot Center in Orlando, Florida, has replaced the Beach Boys with John Stamos and the California Sound for November 11 and 12, 2026. The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Bristol, Virginia, still has the band booked for November 13. Those three dates had been the Beach Boys’ only remaining commitments in 2026.

The band has not performed since two shows earlier this month, in Cincinnati and Nashville. Frontman Mike Love appeared frail and largely unable to sing or stand. A Beach Boys spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The calendar has shifted; Love’s medical situation has not.

Before Nashville, Stamos posted an emotional tribute to Love on Instagram. He wrote:

“Mike is a fighter,” he wrote. “Despite doctors, family and friends urging him to focus on his health, he insists on being on stage. He says he needs his band, the audience, his friends and drummer surrounding him to lift him up…

Tonight, at the Ryman, sharing the stage with Mike, I want to be completely present. Hear every harmony, familiar joke and cheer..I want to cherish every second without feeling those seconds slipping away. That’s what I’m giving him. We don’t know what tomorrow brings. But we have tonight.”

Love has not made the details of his illness public. Last week, he sent The New York Times an optimistic message:

“I’m putting my full energy into rehab,” he wrote, “so I can get back to the music and the best fans in the world.”

What happens to the Beach Boys name?

The only Beach Boys show on the calendar after the Hard Rock date is May 8, 2027, at River Cree Resort and Casino Enoch in Alberta, Canada. Tickets remain on sale.

Al Jardine, the only other living member of the original Beach Boys lineup, continues to tour heavily with veteran members of Brian Wilson’s group. Jardine calls them the Pet Sounds Band. He recently reunited with early-1960s guitarist David Marks and longtime Beach Boy Bruce Johnston at a special show in Cerritos, California.

The Pet Sounds Band has shows set for December 5 in Clearwater, Florida, and December 8 in West Palm Beach, Florida. The calendar now resembles a relay: Stamos takes two dates at Epcot, while Jardine develops a separate version of the name. It is a busy solution to a question the band has not fully answered.

In an interview with Rolling Stone earlier this month, Jardine said he did not know what would happen to the Beach Boys touring license once Love could no longer perform. He said he was open to using it himself, possibly under the name “The Beach Boys Featuring Al Jardine and the Pet Sounds Band.”

“I’d be honored if it came to that,” Jardine told Rolling Stone. “There’s a complexity to it, but it’s also a good one. It works. I don’t know if I can get my buddies, the other Beach Boys, to come out at every show though. We’ll see what happens.”

Who are the California Sound?

The act is new, and its membership remains unconfirmed. The likely arrangement is the Beach Boys touring band without Love. No membership details have been announced.

Stamos’s Instagram post before Nashville made clear that he was sharing the stage with Love rather than replacing him there. The Epcot booking names Stamos, but whether Love appears remains unconfirmed. The Hard Rock show remains on the books, for now.

It remains unclear whether the California Sound was assembled only for the Epcot dates or will book additional gigs. So far, it is a replacement booking, not a fully announced second act.

The next test arrives on May 8, 2027, at River Cree Resort and Casino Enoch, when the listed Beach Boys concert will show whether Love can return to the road or the group must continue without him.
