As Principal Belding, Haskins played the nominal adult authority at the fictional Bayside High, a figure the show's young leads — including Zack, Kelly, Slater, Screech, Lisa and Jessie — alternately charmed, dodged and exasperated. The role made him one of the most recognizable school administrators in sitcom history.
