Veteran publicist Bill Harrison has joined arts nonprofit The Art of Elysium as chief marketing officer, while Emmy-winning costume designer and creative director Johnny Wujek becomes vice president of its new creative services and talent relations division. The appointments, announced exclusively, arrive as the Los Angeles-based organization approaches its 30th year of operation.

Harrison will oversee marketing and communications strategy, brand positioning, corporate and cultural partnerships, audience development and major organizational initiatives. He will also help shape long-term strategy aimed at increasing awareness of the organization's programming while expanding its capacity and geographic footprint.

He brings more than two decades of experience in strategic communications, brand building and reputation management, with a client roster spanning major companies, entertainment brands and cultural and nonprofit organizations. Harrison joins from Sunshine Sachs Morgan & Lysis, where he was a senior vice president leading client work across Disney Consumer Products, Amazon Music and the National Hispanic Media Coalition. Before that, he ran his own agency, Third Street Media Group, and served as CEO of Fifteen Minutes Public Relations.

"The Art of Elysium has spent nearly three decades demonstrating what can happen when artists are given opportunities to use their creativity in service of others," Harrison said. "As I begin this new chapter of my life with them, I'm excited to build on the incredible foundation as it enters its next chapter."

What does Wujek's new division do?

Wujek will lead the creative services and talent relations division, a newly created arm of the organization. His remit covers the organization's creative expression across events, programs, content and cultural initiatives. He will also deepen relationships with artists and talent across fashion, music, film and the broader creative community.

"The Art of Elysium has always been about bringing creative people together and using what we do as artists to connect with people," Wujek said. "That is something I believe in deeply. I'm excited to help create experiences that feel unexpected, inspiring and authentically Elysium — and to bring even more artists into this community."

What do the hires change?

The appointments pair a communications strategist with a creative director whose networks reach into entertainment and fashion. For an organization built on artists working in service of others, the combination signals a push to broaden both its audience and its roster of participating talent as it nears three decades of operation.

Art of Elysium founder Jennifer Howell framed the hires as complementary. "Bill and Johnny bring two very different but incredibly complementary strengths to The Art of Elysium," Howell said. "Most importantly, they both understand that artists have the power to create meaningful and long-lasting change. I'm thrilled to have them join me in helping shape what comes next for The Art of Elysium."

With Harrison building the brand and Wujek building the artist pipeline, the organization enters its 30th year with a leadership structure designed to scale a mission that has, until now, grown largely through reputation alone.
