Programme

  1. Rosalía released a 1,000-song Spotify playlist, '1000 TEMAS QUE TE DAN LUX,' to mark one year since her album Lux.
  2. She also issued a limited-edition vinyl box set and a Substack letter for the anniversary.
  3. She and Lux are nominated for seven Latin Grammys, including Album and Record of the Year.
  4. Rosalía performs at the Latin Grammys on November 12.

Rosalía has marked the first anniversary of her third album, Lux, with a Spotify playlist of 1,000 songs titled "1000 TEMAS QUE TE DAN LUX." The playlist spans Kate Bush, Mozart, Bon Iver, Yung Lean, Labi Siffre, Pink Floyd, Caetano Veloso and Verdi, alongside many more artists drawn from the music she lived with while making the record.

The anniversary arrived yesterday, one full calendar year since the album's release. Alongside the playlist, Rosalía issued a limited-edition vinyl box set and published a Substack letter written in Spanish. In it, she reflected on the album's creation and on the year behind her, a year she describes as "one of the hardest of my life, but also one of the most meaningful."

The playlist, she explained, is an act of giving. "I love acts of service; there's something about preparing something for someone else that fascinates me," she wrote. "That's why I made a playlist of 1,000 songs I listened to during the years I dreamed up, composed and shared Lux."

What does the anniversary reveal about her year?

Since Lux arrived, Rosalía has kept an unbroken schedule. She supported the album with a critically acclaimed tour. She sang "Reliquía" en pointe on Saturday Night Live. She released a song with Fontaines D.C.

The Substack letter frames that stretch of work as both taxing and transformative. Her own words carry the weight: a hard year, but a meaningful one. The letter, the box set and the playlist together function as a personal archive of the record's making, offered directly to her audience rather than through conventional press channels.

The playlist's range tells its own story. Mozart and Verdi sit beside Pink Floyd and Yung Lean. Caetano Veloso and Kate Bush share space with Bon Iver and Labi Siffre. It reads as a map of the influences behind an artist who has built her career on the seam between flamenco tradition and global pop production.

What comes next?

The immediate future holds a major stage. On November 12, Rosalía will perform at the Latin Grammys, where she and Lux are nominated for seven awards, including Album of the Year and Record of the Year.

What does this change for listeners? The playlist offers the rare chance to hear a pop auteur's own source material, sequenced by the artist, at a moment when her next chapter is still taking shape.
