Rosalía Performs "Reliquia" En Pointe on Saturday Night Live

Rosalía performed "Reliquia" entirely en pointe on Saturday Night Live last night, delivering one of the most physically demanding musical-guest sets the show has seen this season.

The Spanish singer was the musical guest on the episode hosted by comedian Shane Gillis. She performed two songs from her 2025 album Lux: "Reliquia" and "Magnolias." The pointe work on "Reliquia" placed her ballet training at the center of the broadcast, turning the musical slot into a staged dance performance rather than a standard lip-synced set.

Rosalía also appeared in one sketch, arriving via thought bubble to tempt Gillis into leaving his dying mother's bedside so he could attend a Jelly Roll concert at the Sphere.

What happened in the promo?

Ahead of the episode, Rosalía appeared in a promotional spot with Kenan Thompson, who pitched her "an album that blends pop and classical music in 14 languages."

"That's Lux, my album. I already made that," Rosalía responded.

The exchange played directly on the multilingual, genre-spanning construction of Lux, the album she released in 2025.

How many times has Rosalía appeared on SNL?

This was Rosalía's third appearance on the show. She was first introduced as Bad Bunny's guest in 2021, then made her solo debut in 2022 in support of Motomami.

The gap between her 2022 appearance and this week's episode spans nearly three years and two album cycles.

Who else has played this season?

Rosalía is the third musical guest of SNL's ongoing 52nd season, following:

• Turnstile — the hardcore band opened the season's musical slots
• Katseye — the global girl group followed
• Rosalía — this week's performer

Next week, Gracie Abrams will perform on the October 31 episode, hosted by Inde Navarrette, the breakout star of Obsession.

The booking places Rosalía in the early run of a season still building its musical-guest roster, with Lux now positioned in front of a national television audience weeks before Grammy eligibility conversations intensify — a subject Pitchfork has already taken up in its overview of the 2027 Grammy Awards nominations.
