  2. Season 7 adapts Bad Actors, part of Mick Herron's Slough House book series.
  3. The show has won three Emmy awards and multiple BAFTAs.

Varada Sethu and Tuppence Middleton have joined the cast of "Slow Horses" Season 7, Apple TV+ announced. Sethu starred recently as Ann Baxter in "The Other Bennet Sister". Middleton played Sara Mankiewicz, wife of Gary Oldman's character, in "Mank".

Oldman leads the series as Jackson Lamb, head of a motley group of MI5 intelligence agents. Season 7 will reunite Middleton with the Oscar winner on screen for the first time since the 2020 Netflix film. Sethu brings her own high-profile credits, including "Andor" and "Jurassic World: Dominion".

Who else is joining the cast?

Three more actors round out the new intake:

  • Ethan Moorhouse ("Mobland")
  • Merab Ninidze ("Homeland")
  • Joshua McGuire ("The Gold")

James Callis will also return as Claude Whelan, the oleaginous MI5 chief introduced in earlier seasons. The returning ensemble includes Jack Lowden as River Cartwright, Christopher Chung as Roddy Ho, Saskia Reeves as Catherine Standish and Aimee-Ffion Edwards as Shirley Dander.

What is Season 7 about?

The new season adapts "Bad Actors", one entry in Mick Herron's best-selling "Slough House" novel series. Lamb and his team hunt down a mole at the heart of the British Government before the traitor can "bring down the state". Ben Vanstone is adapting the novel for television and executive producing. Robert McKillop directs.

See-Saw Films, part of Mediawan, produces the show, which has won three Emmy awards as well as BAFTAs. Executive producers include Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, Iain Canning, Emile Sherman, Dan Hassid, Helen Gregory, Mick Herron, Gail Mutrux, Douglas Urbanski and Oldman himself.

What does this change for the series?

The casting signals continued ambition for a franchise already renewed deep into Herron's catalogue, and it pairs Oldman with a former on-screen spouse in Middleton. No release date for Season 7 has been announced. On the agency side, Curtis Brown Group represents Sethu, Ninidze and McGuire, 42 represents Moorhouse, and Conway van Gelder Grant represents Middleton.
