Studio Dome acquired worldwide sales and distribution rights to “Out of Order!” before the American Film Market, covering a legal comedy starring Brandon Routh, Brooke Shields and Luis Guzmán.

What did Studio Dome acquire?

The transaction gives Studio Dome both worldwide sales and distribution rights to the film. Studio Dome said Guy Jacobson directed “Out of Order!” and co-wrote it with Megan Freels Johnston. The film’s official logline reads: “A lawyer trying to turn his life around and win his girlfriend back finds himself in a world of trouble when he takes on a big new case — representing both sides.”

Studio Dome’s announcement identifies Sandra Bernhard, Tao Okamoto, Sam Huntington, Krysta Rodriguez, Asher Grodman and Michael Potts as additional ensemble members.

Shaked Berenson, founder and CEO of Studio Dome, said: “Guy has delivered a smart, evergreen, funny take on legal absurdity with a cast that knows how to land a joke. Studio Dome is building a slate of character comedies that travel, and ‘Out of Order!’ fits squarely in that lane.”

The acquisition gives Studio Dome worldwide sales and distribution for a legal comedy with three leads and six other named cast members.

What has the film won?

Studio Dome described “Out of Order!” as an awards favorite on the festival circuit. The company reported that the film had recently completed a four-prize sweep at the 2026 Myrtle Beach International Film Festival, spanning overall film, feature, comedy and acting honors.

  • Best overall.
  • Best feature.
  • Best comedy.
  • Best actor for Brandon Routh.

Studio Dome also listed U.S. festival honors, including:

  • Chelsea Film Festival audience award.
  • Best feature and audience award at the Northeast Pennsylvania Film Festival.
  • Best feature at Portland Comedy and Sugarloaf.
  • Best comedy at Universal, ICP Entertainment and Chicago Indie.
  • Best feature comedy film at Houston Comedy.

The four Myrtle Beach prizes form the film’s strongest recent festival result.

What do the lead actors bring?

Studio Dome’s announcement also supplied recent credits for Routh, Guzmán and Shields:

  • Brandon Routh. Studio Dome cited Routh as best known for starring as the titular Man of Steel in 2006’s “Superman Returns.” He recently led Joseph Kahn’s body-horror comedy “Ick” and voiced a role in Netflix’s animated mini-series “Scott Pilgrim Takes Off.” His other recent big-screen credits include “A Keller Christmas Vacation,” “Lost Odyssey: Godfall” and “The Redemer.”
  • Luis Guzmán. He recently wrapped production on Season 3 of Netflix’s “Wednesday.” Earlier this year, he appeared as Judge Troppogrosso in Dave Green’s “Coytoe vs. Acme.” His other recent film roles include “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie,” “Guns Up” and “Havoc.”
  • Brooke Shields. She has worked mostly on the small screen as of late, appearing in AcornTV’s “You’re Killing Me,” Hallmark’s “When Calls the Heart” and Hulu’s “All Fair.” She starred in the films “Mother of the Bride” and HBO’s “Holiday Harmony.”

Routh, Guzmán and Shields combine franchise, streaming and television credits.

Who produced it?

Studio Dome’s announcement identifies the producers as follows:

  • Guy Jacobson of Priority Films.
  • Isen Robbins and Aimee Schoof of Intrinsic Value Films.
