Taylor Swift's "I Knew It, I Knew You" from "Toy Story 5" and Guitarricadelafuente's ballad "La Nieve" from "La Bola Negra" anchor the nominee list for this year's Hollywood Music in Media Awards. Winners will be revealed on Nov. 18 at the Avalon Hollywood.

The ceremony honors composers, songwriters, music supervisors and artists for music in film, television, video games and other visual media. Swift's song, written with Jack Antonoff, plays at the end of "Toy Story 5" and landed in the animated film category. The writers of "La Nieve" — Álvaro Lafuente, Raül Refree and Lucas Duran — took a nod in the independent film category.

Who leads the field?

Composers Daniel Pemberton and Mina Samy received four nominations each. Pemberton is nominated for his scores for "Project Hail Mary" and "The Drama," the series "Slow Horses," and the song "Let Me Sell You a Dream" from "Musk." Samy is nominated for his scores for the film "Ezma" and the short film "Stopped," plus both score and main title theme for the Arabic-language series "The Death Ward."

Ludwig Göransson took three nods for "The Odyssey": the score, the song "When I'm Home" (co-written with fellow nominees James Blake, Travis Scott and Christopher Nolan), and the song's music video. "Behemoth," "The Odyssey," "Michael," "Brother Verses Brother" and "Linda Perry: Let It Die Here" also earned three nominations apiece.

Songwriter nominees include Diane Warren, Swift and Antonoff, Beck, Charli XCX and Miley Cyrus.

What else is on the ballot?

  • Song, feature film: Noah Kahan's "Draw You Out" ("The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping"), Charli XCX's "House Featuring John Cale" ("Wuthering Heights"), Diane Warren's "One Right Here" (performed by Andrea Bocelli and Jennifer Hudson) and Göransson's "When I'm Home."
  • Song, documentary: David Byrne and Pemberton's "Let Me Sell You a Dream" ("Musk"), Kylie Minogue's "Light Up," and Miley Cyrus's "Younger You" from the "Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special."
  • Song, on-screen performance: Julianne Moore singing Jesse Eisenberg's "This City May Have Chewed Me Up (But It Hasn't Spit Me Out)," Jaafar Jackson in "Michael," Linda Perry, Ethan Gold and Nick Jonas.
  • Scores: Randy Newman ("Toy Story 5"), Hans Zimmer ("Dune: Part Three"), John Williams ("Disclosure Day"), Michael Giacchino ("Ray Gunn," "Spider-Man: Brand New Day"), Damon Albarn ("Artificial") and Kris Bowers ("Hexed," "The Eyes of Ghana").
  • Video games: Lana Del Rey's "First Light" from "007 First Light," written with David Arnold, and scores for "Star Wars: Zero Company," "Crimson Desert" and "Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced."
  • Main titles: Fiona Apple's "Horns of a Bull" ("Lucky") and 50 Cent's "Fightland" theme featuring Jeremih.

Music supervision races span film ("The Devil Wears Prada 2," "Wuthering Heights"), television ("P-Valley," "The Chi") and games ("Valorant," "Overwatch"). Special-project nominees include Cirque du Soleil's ʻAuana and the Griffith Observatory's "Centered in the Universe."

Do these awards predict Oscars?

Last year they did. The 2024 winners "Golden" from "K-Pop Demon Hunters" and the original score for "Sinners" both went on to win Oscars — a two-for-two record that makes the Nov. 18 ceremony a useful early signal for awards season handicappers.
