Tovah Feldshuh says "Tensions are NOT RISING" on the set of Netflix's "Nobody Wants This," despite an ongoing public disagreement with co-star Adam Brody over the Israel-Palestine conflict. Feldshuh, who plays Bina Roklov — mother to Adam Brody's Rabbi Noah Roklov — made the statement in a recent post on Threads, responding to a user who claimed "tensions are emerging" on set.
"Profound differences of opinion are," Feldshuh continued. "Please do not conflate the two—And none of it will be brought to the set. I deeply enjoy filming NWT and hope we are chosen to go on for a fourth season."
Where did the disagreement start?
The split became public in September, when Brody told GQ: "Put me down as thinking it's a genocide. Put me down as wanting a free Palestine. It's awful that it's taken so much death and misery, but it does feel like it's reaching a breaking point that it should have a while ago."
Feldshuh and series creator Erin Foster both pushed back. Foster called the issue "complicated" and framed the disagreement as ordinary workplace debate. "I think our work environment, our set is very similar to dinner tables around the world where people are having debate and discussion and disagreeing," Foster said. "And, you know, while I love Adam, I also disagree with him, and that's OK."
Feldshuh went further in earlier comments to The New York Post. "To accuse the Jewish people of genocide is wild," she said. "It's right out of Hitler's playbook. You take the victim, and you make the victim the perpetrator."
What does this change for the show?
Practically, nothing yet. "Nobody Wants This" — a Jewish rom-com built on the romance between a rabbi and a non-Jewish woman — has not been renewed for a fourth season. Foster has said she has "more story to tell," but Netflix hasn't confirmed a pickup.
Notably, the series itself has avoided the Israel-Palestine conflict entirely across its run. The off-screen argument stands in sharp contrast to the show's on-screen tone, which trades in family friction played for warmth and comedy.
So the mechanism here is simple: two cast members and a creator hold incompatible public positions on a highly charged political question, and Feldshuh is working to keep that dispute separate from production. Her Threads post does three things at once — it denies a deteriorating set, concedes genuine disagreement, and lobbies openly for renewal.
Whether Netflix's decision on season four arrives with the dispute still simmering remains the open question. Feldshuh, for her part, has put her preference on the record: she wants to keep filming.
