Verve Signs Actress Maggie Kuntz Ahead of 'The Bell Jar' Role

Verve has signed film, television and theater actress Maggie Kuntz for representation, Variety has learned exclusively. Kuntz continues to be repped by The Rosenzweig Group.

The signing lands as Kuntz's screen career accelerates. She recently joined the cast of the Focus Features film "The Bell Jar," based on the Sylvia Plath novel of the same name. The cast includes Billie Eilish, Carey Mulligan, Connor Storrie and Danielle Deadwyler.

Kuntz will play Doreen, the best friend and confidante of protagonist Esther Greenwood, played by Eilish.

What comes next for Kuntz on screen?

Kuntz is also set to appear in the fourth season of the HBO series "The Gilded Age." She will play Fiona Summers, a cousin of the Astor family and a new arrival in New York high society.

The role places Kuntz inside one of HBO's most prominent period dramas as it heads into a new season.

A stage résumé built on Broadway

On stage, Kuntz recently starred in the Broadway production of "John Proctor Is the Villain." She has also been a part of the Broadway show based on "The Outsiders."

Her dual track — a rising screen presence anchored by serious stage credentials — gives Verve a client with projects spanning three media at once: a studio film, a prestige HBO series and Broadway credits.

With "The Bell Jar" and "The Gilded Age" season four ahead, Kuntz moves into her next phase with a major agency now behind her.
