Judith Light has joined Season 4 of "Shrinking" in a recurring role, Variety has learned exclusively.

Light will appear alongside returning stars Jason Segel, Harrison Ford, Christa Miller, Jessica Williams, Luke Tennie, Michael Urie, Lukita Maxwell and Ted McGinley. Previously announced Season 4 additions include Christian Slater and Karen Gillan. Exact character details for all the new castings remain under wraps.

As previously reported, Season 4 will focus on the same cast and characters but will feature a time jump and an entirely new storyline.

The role marks Light's second Apple TV+ series this year. She was previously reported to appear in "Presumed Innocent" Season 2 at the streamer.

Light brings one of the most decorated résumés in American television and theater. She is a five-time Emmy nominee who won the award for outstanding guest actress in a comedy in 2023 for "Poker Face." She earned two nominations for her work on Amazon's "Transparent," with further nominations for "Ugly Betty" and "The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story."

Her other television credits include "All's Fair," "Julia," "The Politician" and "Law & Order: SVU."

On stage, Light won back-to-back Tony Awards in 2012 and 2013 for "Other Desert Cities" and "The Assembled Parties." She is repped by Gersh, Brillstein and PMK Entertainment.

"Shrinking" was created by Bill Lawrence, Segel and Brett Goldstein. Lawrence executive produces via Doozer Productions with Jeff Ingold and Liza Katzer. Neil Goldman, James Ponsoldt, Randall Winston, Rachna Fruchbom, Ashley Nicole Black, Bill Posley, Abraham Higginbotham and Emily Wilson also serve as executive producers. Warner Bros. Television, where both Lawrence and Goldstein hold overall deals, is the studio.

With Light, Slater and Gillan all boarding a season built around a time jump and a fresh storyline, "Shrinking" is positioning its fourth chapter as a significant creative reset — one that Apple TV+ is evidently willing to stock with its most decorated new hires.
