Keira Knightley is back in the first trailer for Netflix's "Black Doves" Season 2. All six hour-long episodes will release on November 5.

The new season picks up after the events of last Christmas, and Helen's position has grown only more precarious. According to the official logline, Helen (Knightley) "is still betraying her nation's secrets to the covert organization she serves: the Black Doves." Her husband Wallace (Andrew Buchan) is preparing to become Prime Minister, which means she "is walking a more treacherous line than ever."

The plot thickens around two figures from Helen's past. Her "enigmatic handler" Mrs. Reed, played by Sarah Lancashire, is "ensnared in a ruthless plot to undermine her position in the Black Doves." Meanwhile, Helen is reunited with her best friend Sam, played by Ben Whishaw. The once high-end triggerman is now, in the logline's words, "reduced to lonely drinks in Soho bars and low-rate hits."

The stakes are personal as much as political. As the pair search for answers, the logline promises, "loyalties are weaponized, trust is shattered, and the fight to protect the people they love could cost everything." The mission leads Helen and Sam "back to old friends and enemies, through the dark decisions and painful sacrifices of their pasts, and right to the heart of the Black Doves" — with, the streamer adds, "all the explosive wit of Series 1."

The Season 2 cast runs deep. Alongside Knightley, Whishaw, Lancashire and Buchan, the ensemble includes Kathryn Hunter, Ella Lily Hyland, Gabrielle Creevy, Agnes O'Casey, Ambika Mod, Babou Ceesay, Sam Riley, Neve Campbell, Sylvia Hoeks, Goran Kostic and Samuel Barnett.

Joe Barton created the series and writes it, and he also serves as executive producer. Knightley executive produces alongside Jane Featherstone for Sister and Chris Fry. Julian Farino and Kieron Hawkes direct this season, with Callum Devrell-Cameron producing.

With a single-day drop of all six episodes on November 5, Netflix is betting that audiences will want to binge Helen and Sam's return to the heart of the Black Doves in one sitting.
