The first trailer for Ozzy Osbourne's all-star farewell concert film Back to the Beginning has premiered, ahead of the film's arrival in theaters on October 28.

The trailer captures one minute of the film's two-and-a-half-hour runtime. In that minute, the Birmingham crowd sings Osbourne's "Mama, I'm Comin' Home" back to the visibly moved singer. The moment anchors a film documenting a concert that took place in Osbourne's hometown of Birmingham, England in July 2025 — less than three weeks before his death.

The bill was a heavy metal summit: Metallica, Guns N' Roses, Slayer, Pantera, Anthrax, Halestorm and Yungblud performed, alongside many others. Osbourne played a solo set, followed by a Black Sabbath reunion.

Osbourne had faced medical complications for years, and in the months and even days leading up to the farewell show his condition remained precarious. He performed seated in a throne. "[Ozzy] was told he probably wouldn't make it through the show. He said, 'No, I'm doing it. Whatever happens happens,'" Sharon Osbourne, his wife and manager, says in voiceover in the trailer.

She had earlier explained the origins of the event in a statement: "Back to the Beginning came about because I asked Ozzy what would really make him happy. And he said the only thing that would make him happy was if he could perform again and say goodbye to his fans. That's all he wanted to do. He wanted to say goodbye and thank you."

Ben Wainwright-Pearse directed the concert film. His credits include Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour and George Michael: The Faith Tour. Tim van Someren directed the live concert footage, which was livestreamed during the event itself. The theatrical presentation will feature Dolby Atmos and 5.1 surround sound, designed to bring the stadium feel of the performance to cinema audiences.

Back to the Beginning reaches theaters on October 28. The film's official site lists participating cinemas and ticket information.

For fans who could not be in Birmingham last July, the release offers the closest thing to the goodbye Osbourne intended — a final performance he insisted on delivering against his doctors' expectations.
