The Raconteurs played their first live show in nearly six years on October 10, when Jack White brought out his bandmates during the encore of his concert at the Truth in Nashville. The performance marked the group's first appearance together since December 2019.
Brendan Benson (singer and guitarist), bassist Jack Lawrence and drummer Patrick Keeler joined White for a five-song set: "Steady, As She Goes," "Hands," "Level," "Broken Boy Soldier" and "Carolina Drama." Keeler has been playing in White's touring band throughout his current run.
The reunion capped the second of White's two nights at the Nashville venue.
Did fans see it coming?
White had signaled the possibility days earlier. In an Instagram post, he encouraged Raconteurs fans to grab tickets, writing "there might be a little surprise."
The surprise turned out to be the full crew onstage together — the first time all four members have performed live since their December 2019 show.
What is White touring behind?
White is on the road supporting his latest record, Frozen Charlotte, released in July.
The Raconteurs' last studio album, Help Us Stranger, arrived in 2019. In 2020, the band shared the EP Live at Electric Lady, accompanied by a documentary directed by Jim Jarmusch.
Whether the Nashville encore signals further Raconteurs activity remains unconfirmed, but the October 10 performance ends the band's longest performance gap since it formed.
